Arlo

Hi! I'm a very handsome male treeing walker coonhound! I was born on 1/2/2023, so I'm only about 3 years old. I need a new home because my people have to move to take care of their aging parent & they can't take me with them. I'm an obedient boy - at least sometimes :) I'm also quite active & playful! I really like to play tug-of-war & ball! I'm smart, too! I'm housetrained & crate trained! I'll bark when I need to go outside. I LOVE my crate. I like to sleep in it at night. I'm good around other dogs, & I live with my brother Auzzie. Auzzie also needs a new home, but we are totally fine with going to separate homes. I'm not good with cats, though. If you want to take me for walks on the leash, then I would need some work on leash training. But I'm a smart guy & I would get the hang of it! I'm a big boy! I weigh about 80 lbs. UPDATED 3/27/206 Hi! My name is Aurora! I'm a female beagle/fox terrier mix puppy! The vet thinks I was born on 12/18/2025. On March 26, 2026, I weighed about 10 lbs. It's hard to say how big I'll get at this point in my young life. I'm a very very active girl! I'm so sweet & cuddly & getting along great with the older dog in my foster home! I'm doing fantastic with housetraining & crate training! I haven't had any accidents in the crate! Right now, I'm crated for no more than 3 hours at a time - then I go outside. Every time I'm outside, I go potty! I'll be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of my adoption. My forever home will have me spayed at the age recommended by their vet (probably 6 months). BTW, that's my brother Sutton, who is also available for adoption, poking his head in one of my photos! UPDATED 3/20/2026 Hi! My name is Benji! I'm a super friendly 8-year old male beagle. I'm a happy pup! I'm a very loving guy! I love to hang out on the sofa with my people! I also love to go for long walks! I was crated a lot in my former home, & so I don't like the crate now. If I have to be confined, then it's better to baby gate me in the kitchen. I've lived with young children & I love to play with them! When I came into Nittany Beagle Rescue, I drank excessively. Nittany Beagle Rescue took me to the vet & it turns out I have Cushings. I'm on meds for that & they work great! I don't drink excessively at all anymore! The meds for that are $93/month through Chewy. I got a little chunky & I'm on a diet. Once I loose more weight, the cost of my Cushings meds should decrease. I'm housetrained. I usually go outside about 3 times a days. I've lived with another dog & I did ok. I'm great with cats! UPDATED 02/20/2026 Hi! My name is Bentley! I'm a 7-year old male tricolor beagle. I'm a very special guy & I need a special home! I'm a very loving dog! I love to sleep & cuddle! I love to be petted! I'm also active! I like to walk! I want to sleep in bed with you at night! But I'm also pretty insecure. I really need to be close to my person. I'm housetrained, & I'm used to going outside 3-4 times a day. I'll scratch at the door or beg to let you know I need to go outside. I'm not crate trained & I don't like the crate at all. I get worked up when people try to leave me - even if you just want to leave the room. When you do that, I'll block your path & nip/bite at your clothing. I guess I have some issues ... but who doesn't? I really need a patient person who can work with me. I would do best in home with one person who is home all or most of the time. I'm fine with cats & other dogs. However, I don't do that well with bigger, more dominant dogs - they intimidate me! But I'm fine with dogs my size & smaller, & bigger dogs that don't try to boss me around. I also don't like anyone messing with my food. I'm sure you understand ... I mean it's my food & you know how beagles are about their food. I'm fine when I go to the groomers, although I will howl when you turn the blow dryer on! I weigh about 30 lbs. UPDATED 5/18/2026 Hi! My name is Bruno! I'm a 5-year old male tricolor beagle! I have a birthday coming up in May & then I'll be 6! I love to be outside & go for walks! I think going for a walk is great fun! I love attention from my people! The more the better! :) I'm great with children! I'm in a foster home with a 4- & a 7-year old children & I do very well with them. I don't really play with them, though. I've lived with other dogs & I get along well with them! Sometimes I'm good with cats - sometimes not so much. You would probably have to work with me if you have a cat. I'm housetrained! I'm used to going outside about 5 times a day. I'll wait by the door to let you know I need to go outside. Sometimes I will bark to let you know I need to go outside. I'm crate trained also. I will howl when I first go into a crate, but then I settle down. I don't like to be alone. I'll bark the entire time my people are away. I just need to be with a person. If I have to be left alone, it's probably best to crate me. It helps me stay calm. So I need a forever home where me barking when I'm not with a person won't be a problem. I used to sleep on the furniture & in bed with my people. But the rules changed & my prior people had me sleep on a dog bed instead. I'm allowed to sleep where I want in my foster home! I had a really tough start to life. My mother had a C-section & they blow dried her. But I got a lot of the heat & part of my ear & top of my nose was burned off. It doesn't hurt now, though. Buford & Smokey

UPDATED 4/17/2026 Hi! We're Buford & Smokey! We're 12-13 year old beagle mix brothers. We're very bonded & we need a new home together because our person became ill & was no longer able to care for us. We're gentle & affectionate boys! We love to cuddle & be touched! We're so loving, & we're wonderful companions to each other & our person! We're happy boys & quite sociable & friendly! We like to play tug-of-war, & we really enjoy being outside during the day, playing & hanging out in a fenced in back yard. We're also easygoing. We're used to hanging out on the couch with our person & sleeping in bed with them at night. We've been around teenagers & do fine with them. We're used to going outside 5 times a day. We'll let you know we need to go outside by making small barks and/or excitement around the door. We're afraid of lightning & thunderstorms. We've lost a lot of weight since coming into NBR! Buford weighs about 50 lbs & Smokey weighs about 65 lbs. We're not overweight, though! We're just bigger boned! :) We eat turkey & venison (beef & chicken dog food don't really agree with us). UPDATED 2/19/2026 Hi! My name is Buster! I'm a 9.5 year old red & white male beagle. I'm such a super sweet guy! I need a new home because my person died. I lived with Onyx & Snoopy. We're all looking for a home, but we don't need to be together. It was a really, really tough past few months! Our person had to go to the hospital/rehab about 3 months ago, & so family would come & check on us about 3 times a day. Then our person passed away. So it's was really really hard. I'm in a foster home now & I'm looking for my forever home! I'm a very sweet boy! I'm very loving & affectionate! I'm also attentive to my person. Normally I'm very outgoing! Our person used to have parties & lots of people would come & I was great! I loved all the attention when people would come! I used to sleep in bed with my person. I like to play with toys! LOL When I lived with Snoopy, he would take my toy & I didn't like that, so we'd get into a fight sometimes. I'm in a foster home with an easygoing older female dog & we get along fine. Sometimes I try to get her to play with me! I do take seizures & I'm on meds for them. Sometimes I will have a breakthrough seizure, but it's very rare & it's very mild. I'm housetrained. When I need to go outside, I will stare at you with my paw in the air. I'm doing pretty good with housetraining in my foster home. I've never been crated. I know how to use a doggie door! Hi! My name is Daisy & I'm a 1.5 year old female tricolor beagle! I'm an active girl! I like to move & sniff! I'm also very loving & I adore attention! But I'm a beagle, so if I get loose, I'll run off! I've always lived outside in a pen, but I want to be part of a family and live in a home with my people! So I'll need work on housetraining and house manners - but I'm smart. I've never really had a chance to play with toys - but I'm anxious to find out about them! I'm a little thing! I only weigh about 22 lbs. I've been raised with children as young as 8, & I'm great with them! UPDATED 3/17/2026 Hi! My name is Mimi! I'm a 7-year old tricolor female beagle. I'm such a sweet girl! I love to give kisses! I used to be used for breeding. But my owners retired me & gave me to Nittany Beagle Rescue! I used to live in a barn. But I'm in a foster home now & I LOVE it! I love to lay on the cushy pillows & dog beds! I'm laid back - BUT I LOVE to play with other dogs! I really need a home where I have a doggie playmate! I'm also an escape artist & I'm very good at climbing! (I can climb over 4 foot baby gates!) So I need a securely fenced in yard - but not chain link, because I'll climb that for sure). I have managed to get on the counter in my foster home & I'll drop treats to the other dogs there. Hi! My name is Mochi! I'm a lovable, very energetic 6-7 year old female beagle mix! I love to play tug-of-war! I'm a friendly, very affectionate girl! I love to have my belly rubbed! I like to be cuddled & sit on my person's lap! I like to sleep in bed with my person! When I'm chilly, I like to sleep cuddled up against my person's legs! I love being talked to with an upbeat excited voice! I'm active & playful, & I really need someone who can get me the exercise I need! I'm housetrained for the most part, although I might have an accident a few times a month. I'm used to going outside 5 to 6 times a day. I don't really tell you when I need to go outside. Hi! My name is Rue! I'm a 2.5 year old female mixed breed dog! I've got shepherd & husky & a bunch of other breeds in me! :) I'm a happy dog! I'm very friendly with people & I love attention! I'm very loving! And I'm playful! I love to play fetch, ball & tug-of-war! I'm housetrained. I'll go to the door when I need to go outside. I usually go out every few hours during the day. It's hard to say how big I'll get at this point in my young life. I'm a very sweet & cuddly boy! I'm a busy boy who loves to play! I adore other dogs! NEW PHOTOS & UPDATED 2/19/2026 Hi! My name is Snoopy! I'm a 9-year old tricolor male beagle. I'm such a very sweet & sensitive guy! I can be a little timid at first. But once I warm up, I'm so very sweet & loving! I love to sit on my people's lap, & to be touched & petted! I need a new home because my person died. I lived with Onyx & Buster. We're all looking for a home, but to be honest, I would really prefer to be the only pet. Although I should be fine with an easygoing canine brother/sister! It's been a really, really tough past few months! Our person had to go to the hospital/rehab about 2.5 months ago, & so family would come & check on us about 3 times a day. Then our person passed away. So it's just been been really really hard. I'm very loving & affectionate! I'm also attentive to my person. But this whole situation has made me feel pretty insecure. But normally I'm very outgoing! Our person used to have parties & lots of people would come & I was great! I loved all the attention when people would come! I used to sleep in bed with my person. I like to play with toys! I like to chew on them for awhile & make them squeak! :) I used to take Buster's toy & so we'd get into a fight sometimes. I also don't like it when the other dogs get near my food or my person's food. I have taken seizures in the past & I'm on meds for them. The meds seem to work great. I'm housetrained. When I need to go outside, I might look at you. But I'm not always real clear on letting you know I need to go outside. With my person being gone so long, we all started having accidents in the house. So I may need a bit of a refresher on housetraining. I was in a place before I went to the home I just came from. In my very 1st home, I was crated all the time & lived in my own filth. So I was never crated once I arrived at my past owner's home. Ziva

Hi! My name is Ziva, & I'm a beautiful 3.5 year old female beagle mix! I'm a very energetic girl! I love to play with other dogs! Playing tag is the best! I've lived with children as young as 5 years, but I've been around children even younger than that. I really enjoy playing tag with the children also! I'm a very affectionate & loving girl. But I'm also on the insecure side & I can be quite sensitive. I just really need a family who will show me love and kindness. I'm not great with cats. But I'm great with the other dogs in my foster home. I love to play with them! However, I can be protective of my crate when I'm in it & of my favorite spot when I need to get away from it all - but just with the other animals. I'm always great with people! I'm a beagle & so if I get loose, I'll run off. I'm housetrained. I will go to the door & give a little bark or pace until someone lets me outside. When I was younger, I was crated a lot & so now I'm just crated when absolutely necessary. I'm used to someone usually being home, & so it's hard to say how I would be if someone was out all day for work. I'm used to having a fenced in back yard & I just love it! I will howl at people passing by - after all, I am a beagle! I especially love women! I can be a little dismissive of men. LOL I'm up-to-date on vaccines & will be spayed before I'm adopted.
