In Memory of Joe Bagel

Joe Bagel came into my life in 1997, as a stray dog living at the veterinary clinic where I worked. He lived at the clinic for a bit, where he got his name and stole my heart. He acted as a big brother to the two other beagles that came to live with us - including one from Nittany Beagle Rescue! My fianc and I are so pleased to see that our two younger dogs have picked up Joe's gentle way and his passion for eating, sleeping, and cuddling.

We had to let our boy go on February 5th, 2009, after 12 years of companionship. None of his illnesses ever broke his beagle spirit even as his body started to fail him. He will be fondly remembered for his eagerness at the dinner table next to his Grandpa Ferretti, his joy when doing "work" outside with Grandpa Butia, and his peacefulness when sleeping at his Mom and Dad's feet. But most of all, he will be remembered for bringing a smile to the face of everyone he met.

Losing a beloved pet is so very hard on all of us. They have given us so much love through the years when they were with us here on earth and now we live with their wonderful memories.

Tax-deductible donations of $25.00 can be made in memory of a beloved pet. By memorializing your pet or a friend's or family member’s pet in this way, you help Nittany Beagle Rescue give beagles who are in shelters or with owners who can no longer keep them a second chance at a wonderful life.
