Nittany Beagle Rescue - Kona

UPDATED 6/30/2025 Hi! My name is Kona & I'm an adorable 5-year old female beagle mix! I weigh about 30 lbs. I love to sit on the sofa with my people & to sleep in bed with them at night! I love to sleep under the blanket! I'm a playful girl! I love to play ball, tug-of-war & fetch! I'm housetrained - I will sit by the door when I need to go outside. I've lived with older children & should be fine with children who are 7 or 8 or older (& who know how to treat a dog properly). I love cats & will sleep next to them if they'll let me! I've lived with a dog, & I was very good with her. My prior owners said that I get excited around dogs I don't know, & need to be slowly introduced. However, during the Nittany Beagle Rescue showing, I was very friendly with all the dogs I met. I wanted to lick their ears. :) I enjoy car rides, although I can be rambunctious. I have some separation anxiety. I need a new home because my people worked 8 hour shifts & I can be destructive if left alone that long. When I'm alone that long, I'll eat things I shouldn't & tear things apart. However, I've always been fine without my people if they are away for shorter periods of time, like about 3 hours. I am not crate trained & don't do well in the crate for long periods of time. The best way to get me to listen/obey is by using praise & treats. I'm already up-to-date on vaccines. I will be spayed before I'm adopted. Please think about giving me a forever home! I can't wait to be part of a family!
