Bio at Adoption: Hi! We are 8-year female beagle sisters & we need a new home! Our person passed away - we sat with him for 2 days before someone discovered us. But we're fine now! We need a new home where we can sleep in bed with our person & hang out on the couch with them! We seem to be housetrained & good with other dogs. We're already spayed, & up-to-date on vaccines. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bae Bay & I'm a female tricolor beagle. I'm about 9 years old. I'm the sweetest thing! I'm a very loving & sociable girl! I just want to be loved & petted - the more the better! :) I'm also pretty easygoing! I ride great in a car or truck! I'm housetrained & crate trained! I'm used to going outside about every 6 hours. I will stare at my person when I need to go outside. I'm fine with cats & smaller dogs. I was attacked by a bigger dog 2 years ago, & so I don't like dogs about 50 lbs. or bigger. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 2/15/2025 Hi! My name is Bandit! I'm a 1-year old male hound mix! So I'm a young guy! I'm long-legged & about 54 lbs. - but I should probably weigh 57 or 58 lbs. I'm super sweet! I love to touch people & lean against them when you're sitting! I love everyone! I'm active of course since I'm a young guy! I'm also playful. I love fetch, tug-of-war & ball! But I'm also easygoing. I like to hang out on the furniture with my people - or I'll hang out on a dog bed on the floor. I like to bark at things when I'm outside -especially squirrels! (I like to chase squirrels also!) But I'm quiet when I'm inside. I've been around children as young as 10 & I'm great with them! I'm in a foster homes with several other dogs & I do great with them! There are also cats in my foster home. If they give me a good swat then I stay away from them. But if they are timid, then I think they are prey. My foster home is working with me on showing respect to all cats. I always lived in a home with a doggie door & so I'm very well housetrained when I have access to a doggie door. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 5/02/2025 Hi! We're two very sweet bonded beagles looking for a new home! Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks we were abandoned on a country road. This kind woman took us in & tried to find our person, but no one said they were missing us! Our best guess is that our person passed away or went into a nursing home & no one wanted us, so they dropped us off. Penelope was in pretty bad shape when we were found - she could barely walk. But we're doing better now - although we'll be doing A LOT better when someone decides to make us part of their family! Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks we're probably siblings, and 7-10 years old. We're housetrained, & we go out about 3-4 times/day. We're easygoing, happy dogs! We're also pretty active! Penelope is spayed & Barnaby is neutered. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 2/14/2025 Hi! My name is Bella! I'm a very sweet 7-year old female beagle. I need a new home because my people passed away. I'm a very affectionate & easy-going girl! I'm very loving! I'm already spayed & up-to-date on vaccines! I'm great with other dogs. I've been around children of all ages. I came into Nittany Beagle Rescue extremely overweight - I was 65 lbs when I came in! My foster mom has me on a good exercise & diet regime. & I've lost 30 lbs. already! I feel fantastic! The vet thinks I should weigh about 30 lbs or a little less - so I'm nearly at my weight goal! Yeh! Now that I've lost so much weight, I like to go for walks! And I like to play with other dogs! Unfortunately, because of the excess weight I had for so long, my knees got messed up. So I have problems with stairs. I really need a 1-story home. But I'm making great progress & I'm so happy! I've lived in a pen all my life as a hunting dog - but my person was no longer able to care for me & wanted a better life for me! I'm in a temporary foster home now & I'm doing fantastic! I'm basically housetrained (although sometimes I will have an accident - but my foster mom is working with me on that). Plus I'm crate trained. I love to sleep on top of my foster dad! I just love to be next to people & to be loved! I'm about 9 years old. I had an injury when I was younger & now I have arthritis in my left rear leg, so sometimes I don't use it. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED BIO! Hi! My name is Buddha & I'm a very friendly 10-year old male beagle. I love everyone - dogs, cats & children of all ages! I weigh about 30 lbs. & my hind legs are paralyzed due to a back injury. So people have to provide some extra help with things like going outside for potty. But I come with a great Help 'Em Up Harness to support me. I bark only when I need something. I also have wheels for when I go outside - so I can really travel! I haven't learned to potty while in my wheels yet - but I will learn eventually. I'm a very happy fellow! My favorite thing to do is to cuddle on the couch. I ride well in a car! Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Captain! I'm a very friendly & outgoing 4.5 year old male beagle. I'm also very loving & affectionate! I'm an extremely active guy! I would be a great running partner for someone. I love to play ball & tug of war. I get along great with other dogs! I've never been around cats. I haven't lived with small children, & so I'll go to a home with children who are a little older (8 or so) or no children. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 10/10/2025 Hi! My name is Charlotte! I'm a very friendly 6-8 year old female beagle! I've lived with young children & I'm great with them! I'm housetrained & crate trained! When I need to go outside, I'll go to the door. Sometimes I might scratch at it. But it's important to let me out when I need to go outside - I really can't hold it longer. When I first go into the crate, I'll bark for 10-15 minutes. But then I settle down. I like hanging out on the furniture with my people! I also like to sleep in bed with my people at night! I especially like sleeping with the children! I'm a very loving girl! I'm also quite happy & playful! I like to play fetch & ball! I like car rides also! You can secure me with a doggie seatbelt to the back seat, & I'll be fine! I'm living with 2 other big dogs now & I don't really like them. And then I'm a very friendly fellow! I love to be with people - to be petted & to be next to a person! I'm a fairly easygoing guy! I've lived with other dogs & I do well with them. But Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks I would be fine as an only dog. I'm housetrained! I'm used to having a doggie door & a fenced yard! Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 12/15/2024 Hi! My name is Daisy! I'm a happy, sweet girl! My people weren't able to keep me any longer & now I really need a home! I'm probably about 10 years old. Everyone loves me! I ride well in a car & I like to go for car rides - at least short rides. (On longer rides I might get sick). I like to be on the couch with my people. At night, I like to sleep in bed with my person. I like other dogs too. I like to snuggle up to them when sleeping. Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't know how I am with cats - but I'm probably fine! I'm a young guy, so I'm very energetic - as most young beagles are! Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Dipper! I'm a super sweet male beagle. I'm young - I'm only 2 or 3 years old! I'm really a wonderful dog! I'm a very, very friendly fellow! I've lived with young children & I'm great with them! I've been around other dogs at the dog park & I love going there! I've also lived with a cat & I'm wonderful with the cat as well! I'm a little guy! I only weigh about 20 lbs. I can be skittish in new environments. I also have separation anxiety - but I just started medicine for it (trazadone) & I'm really doing so much better! Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 10/10/2025 Hi! My name is Dixie! I'm a 6-year old female bloodhound! I'm a very loving & easygoing girl! I really, really LOVE people! I'm also very mannerly! Although I do like to jump up on people - especially if I like them! I'm very playful! I like fetch & ball. When I do something good, I get so excited & playful! For instance, I don't really like the vet to examine my ears, but once they are all done, I'm a happy girl! I jump & play! But what I love the most are treats & the water! I used to have a splash pad & I loved it! I also love little swimming pools, ponds, rivers & going for boat rides! Really anything that has to do with water! And treats! Don't forget, I LOVE treats! I'm pretty easy to walk! Also, I love to go for car rides! I just hang out in the back seat & enjoy the trip! I'm housetrained. I'll whine if I need to go outside. I'm used to being crated (in a very large crate) when my people leave the house & at night. But during the day, I want to hang out in the couch or outside! I would love a fenced in yard so I can hang out outside! I just love to watch the birds! I'll sit in the back yard & just watch them do their thing! I've lived with other dogs, & I do well with them, especially if they are submissive. But I would be totally fine being the only dog - I just want to be around people! Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Duck & I'm a male tricolor beagle! I'm about 9-10 years old. I need a new home because my person isn't able to care for me any longer. I'm an easygoing & loving little boy! And I like to play ball! I'm used to sitting with my person on the couch & sleeping in bed with him at night. I only weigh about 20 lbs. - so I'm just a little guy! I'm housetrained. I will go to the door when I need to go outside. I'm used to going outside every few hours during the day. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Henry! I'm a 7-year old male beagle! I'm an easygoing guy! I'm affectionate & happy fellow! I like to play tug-of-war. I love to hang out on the couch or the bed! I also love to lay outside in the sun! I've been around children of all ages, & other dogs & I'm great with them! I've never been around cats. I listen well! I'm also very adaptable - so I adjust to new situations quickly. I ride well in the car - no need to crate me. I am a sensitive guy. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 7/7/2025 IN A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME Hi! My name is Honey! I'm a very sweet female tricolor beagle. I'm young - I'm only about 2 years old! I love to be petted! I'm housetrained, although I might have a few accidents at first until my people learn my signs. I will run out of the door, & so you need a secure system to make sure I don't do that! I can be a little timid in new situations. But even when I'm timid & afraid, I'm so very sweet. I've been around other dogs & I'm good with them! She picked me up along with her other two beagles on her way home from a trip. We stopped for a burger treat…yum! We got home and I’ve been a good girl ever since. Didn’t hate my bath too much. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 12/1/2024 Hi! My name is Linus! I'm a super sweet beagle mix! I'm only about 30 lbs or so - so I'm a little guy! I love to give kisses! As you can see from some of my photos, I love to cuddle! I'm only 2 years old, so I'm a young guy! I've got tons of energy! (Most young beagles do!) The people who had me before I came into Nittany Beagle Rescue said that I can jump a 4 foot fence! I used to live with 5 & 13-year old children. I'm really good with them, but because of my energy level, I would do better with somewhat older children (say 8 & older). I'm vocal - as most beagles are! But I don't howl that often - just when motivated! LOL In fact, I'm living in an apartment with my foster family & I do great. I've lived with other cats & dogs, & I'm good with them, although I'll chase the cat. I will guard my food when in the crate. I'm crate trained & I do well in the crate. I can usually hold it about 6 hours in the crate. I'm crated at night & when no one is home because I'm a young guy & will probably get into things while everyone is asleep or away. I do well with housetraining if you keep me on a schedule. I'm used to going outside 5 or 6 times a day. I go to the door when I need to go outside. I might have an accident about once a week. The vet thinks it could be a back injury that is healing or has healed, or possibly myelopathy. So I need a home with only 1 or 2 steps. I'm very energetic & I love to play - although it's best to make sure I don't overdue it. Nittany Beagle Rescue will be observing Sadie's lameness in her foster home. I also have problems with my ears - I had recurrent ear infections that weren't taken care of prior to coming to Nittany Beagle Rescue. So I had to have one of my ear canals removed. I feel soooo much better! But my other ear doesn't look good. It's possible I may need the ear canal in my 2nd ear removed someday. Sadie weighs about 32 lbs. She is already spayed. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 7/25/2025 Hi! My name is Sammy! I'm a female shepherd mix - so I'm an honorary beagle! I'm only 3 years old & weigh about 60 lbs. I'm a very friendly & sweet girl! I'm also happy & playful! I'm also active & energetic! I know some basic commands! I live with children as young as 6 years old & I'm great with them! We like to roughhouse! I'm great with the other dog in the house - I love to play with her! (She's a bigger dog). But when I meet a new dog, I'm timid & will growl at them. So I just need some work on that. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 10/14/2025 Hi! My name is Shelly! I'm a little red goldendoodle! So I guess you could say I'm an honorary beagle since I don't have any beagle in me at all! I'm 6 years old & I weighted 27 lbs when I went to the vet for my vaccines! I belonged to a breeder & they were done breeding me, so they asked a kind person to find a home for me! I'm a very sweet girl - but I'm shy! I was around children on the farm, but I'm so very shy that I will need a quiet home without a lot of activity. When I was on the farm, I lived in the kennel, but they brought me into the house sometimes also! I'm in a foster home now & working on housetraining. I will need to go to the groomer to keep my coat nice. I don't shed, and it will grow & grow & become matted unless I'm regularly brushed & get my coat trimmed. In fact, my fur was matted close to my skin when I came into Nittany Beagle Rescue, so I got shaved down. I feel so much better now that I don't have those tight mats next to my skin! But I'm adorable with or without my fur! I love to be petted & held, especially by women. I'm very very shy around men. I would feel best if there was a woman in the house who would care for me. It's ok if there is a man in the house also, as long as he is very patient with me. I need a gentle person who can patiently work with me on becoming more confident! Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 11/14/2025! Hi! My name is Sherlock & I'm a 1-year old male beagle/lab mix! I'm not that big - maybe about 45 lbs. I'm a happy fellow! I'm also very loving! I really love to be petted & loved & to give kisses! I like to play, especially tug-of-war! I've got lots of puppy in me! I could use training on manners still - I'll jump up on people because I'm so excited when I see them! I might need work on housetraining - but maybe not! (My brother Dallas is in a foster home & he didn't need any work. So I might not either!) I need a new home because my former owner's health is declining & she had so many dogs, that she couldn't take care of all of us. She wanted us to have a better life. On Aug. 10, 2025, I went outside for the 1st time & walked on grass. It was also the first time I wore a collar & had a leash on. Needless to say, I was pretty scared. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 2/15/2025 Hi! My name is Sparky! I'm a red & white male beagle! I'm a super sweet guy! I'm in a temporary foster home with 2 other beagles & I get along great with them! When I first arrived at my temporary foster home, I was very interested in the other 2 beagles at first, but after a day or two, we’re just buddies. We go on walks together and hang out on the floor, couch, or bed together. We eat at the same times each day. I’ve learned that I get fed third and have to wait patiently until my food is all the way in the floor. It’s a hard lesson but I’m making progress. My foster is trying to teach me sit, but I’m pretending I don’t understand. One day I’ll surprise her! She also has puzzle boxes for us and hides treats in them. I struggle with them but I'm persistent! I got to go to the pet store. Lots to sniff there. I haven’t had any accidents. I’m only in the kennel when my foster isn’t home. I sometimes do bark at things when I’m outside, but am learning to bark less and less. I’d like a family of my own soon but am well taken care of until they find me! Happy Valentine’s Day! But I'm thin & could gain a couple of lbs. I'm a very loving & affectionate fellow! I love to be with people & cuddle with them on the couch! I'm really love to play with my stuffed toys! I'm very gentle with them! I'm such a gentle & polite little fellow! I've been around other dogs & cats, & I'm very good with them. I've been around older children & I'm great with them.
