Adopted Beagles, 2016

Bandit

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bandit! I'm a very loving and affectionate 8-year old male beagle! I'm an easy-going guy! I like to play ball & tug-of war! I'm good with young children, although I don't always like it when they hug & kiss me! I get along with other dogs! I'm anxious to find my forever home! I am housetrained and crate trained, although I will bark in the crate (at least for awhile). I am housetrained, but sometimes I have accidents when no one is home. I usually go out about every 3 or 4 hours once my person is home from work. I'm used to being free in the house during the day. I like to sleep in bed with my person at night! I don't really like car rides, though. If I live with another dog, I may try to eat their food, so it's best to feed us separately. I am possessive over high-value treats like rawhides & pig ears with other dogs. I'm already neutered and up-to-date on shots. I just need a new family! Maybe it's you!

Baxter

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Baxter & I'm an adorable 9-month old beagle! I'm an active & playful boy - as most young beagles are! I love to play fetch, ball & tug-of-war! I'm also affectionate & loving! I love to sit on the couch & cuddle with my person! I LOVE attention! I've been raised with a 7-year old child & I'm great with him! I was great with the other dogs at Nittany Beagle Rescue's Petco showing. I am crate-trained & nearly housetrained. When I need to go outside, I'll sit at the door. I'm on the small side - probably under 25 lbs. I'm still a puppy, so I like to chew on things! I will jump up on things also. I need a new home because my owner is ill. I am living in a boarding kennel & am anxious for my forever home to take me home! I am neutered & up-to-date on shots. Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Bentley

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bentley & I need a new home! I'm an adult male tricolor beagle mix. I am extremely friendly & outgoing, & I love people of all ages! I have lots of energy! I was found as a stray, so Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't know much about me. Bentley seems like a fairly young dog - maybe 1 or 2 years old. He seems to get along with all kinds of dogs. When we showed Bentley at Petco, he wanted to kiss all the people & to play with the dogs! However, because we don't know Bentley's history, we will place him in a home with older children (or no children). Bentley is living in a boarding kennel, but he would love to be part of someone's family! Please think about making room for Bentley in your home! Bentley will be neutered before he is adopted. Bentley is up-to-date on vaccines.

Buddy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Buddy but my foster family calls me Houdini! I got the name Houdini the first few minutes I was with them because of my ability to escape. But since, then, they have loved & cared for me, & I no longer want to run! I would do best in a fenced-in yard. I'm happy to lay in the yard for hours! I get along great with everyone, including other dogs & cats! I love to cuddle in bed with my person at night! I also love car rides. I'm learning new commands & getting a refresher on some I already know. I'm a very sweet, affectionate, sociable boy! I'm also housetrained, neutered, up-to-date on shots & microchipped! I don't mind a crate, but I don't need one since I can play by myself or keep busy with a bone. I'm looking for my new forever family! Won't you bring me home & make me part of yours? I promise you won't be disappointed! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Bullet

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bullet & I'm a very friendly 4-6 year old male beagle. Don't you love my face?! I'm so sweet! I need a new home because my owner passed away. I'm very affectionate! I love to be loved! The neighborhood children would come & play with me at my old home & I loved the attention! I love to play! I can be a little timid at first with new people, but once I get to know them, I'm affectionate & playful! I've been around other dogs & cats, & I've been fine with them. (Although sometimes bigger bully-looking dogs frighten me & I bark at them). I will dig, especially if I'm bored. I was in a crate for the 1st time when I came to Nittany Beagle Rescue, & I did fine. When I ride loose in the car, I move around a little at first, but then I settle down & enjoy the car ride! I am neutered & up-to-date on shots. I'm about 35 lbs. I'm living in a boarding kennel right now, and I'm anxious to find my forever home! When I'm at Petco, I'm perfectly housetrained. But I've been kept as an outside dog for at least several years, and so when I'm loose in a house, my new family will probably need to work on housetraining with me. But I'm extremely bright & Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks I will learn quickly! I am a fantastic dog! Please make me part of your family! Click on my page to see a new photo of me!

Chloe

Bio at Adoption: Chloe is a very sweet 3-year old female beagle! She is a very gentle girl! Chloe loves to sit on your lap! Chloe is a young beagle & very energetic. So she will need lots of exercise! She has lived outside in a pen for the past few years, but was housetrained early in life. So she will probably need a refresher on housetraining. Chloe has been around other dogs to a limited extent, but we think she would rather be the only dog. Poor Chloe is starved for human affectionate. Chloe has been around children as young as 4 years old & is quite gentle with them. However, she wasn't raised around young children, so at this point, Nittany Beagle Rescue will place Chloe in a home with children 8 and older. Chloe is spayed, up-to-date on shots, & microchipped. Chloe is living in a boarding kennel & is anxious to find her forever home! Please think about making Chloe part of your family! Click on Chloe's page to see a different photo of her!

Daisy

Bio at Adoption: My name is Daisy and I'm a 1.5 year old female beagle! I am fairly petite around 20-25lbs and have LOTS of energy! I love all people big and small! I love to play, especially with toys! I'm very excited to go on walks so I do pull, but I'm very food motivated so I am sure I could learn how not to. I'm nearly house trained, so if you don't catch my signal to go out I will potty inside. I can only hold it for so long! I enjoy being outdoors so I like to say I need to go potty when really I just want to sniff around the yard. I am an escape artist! I will try to sneak out of doors (including open car doors!), follow my nose, and will jump out of car windows if given the chance so I should never be let off leash. In true beagle nature I LOVE food! I will steal it from your plate, but am learning how to leave it. I am crate trained, so maybe during your dinner time it could be best if I hang out there. I am okay with cats! I am very interested in small animals like rabbits - probably best I don't live with one. I do really like other dogs once I get to know them! I can grumble a bit at first, but then once I learn where I belong I calm down. I play rough and loudly with the other beagle in my foster home but we have never hurt each other. I can get possessive of my toys with other dogs, but I am great with toys & people! If you'd like to meet Daisy please fill out an application and we'll set up a time to meet! Her foster would love to help with training if you decide to adopt!

Daisy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Daisy & I'm an adorable 7-8 year old female beagle! I'm very mellow girl, and I LOVE people! I've been around an infant and an 8-year old child, & did well with both of them. I'm also great with other dogs, although if I'm around a really active dog, then I'll howl. But that's the only time I've been know to howl. I'm quite quiet! I haven't been around cats. I'm housetrained, up-to-date on shots & spayed! I suffer from separation anxiety, and so I need a home where someone is home most of the time. Daisy was found as a stray & was in really rough shape. The people who found her were able to get her healthy again, but unfortunately are not able to keep her due to working long hours. Please think making Daisy part of your family! Click on Daisy's photo to see another picture of her!

DJ

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is DJ & I'm a wonderful male beagle! I need a new home because my former owner is in a nursing home. I'm used to being babied & I just love affection! I need someone to love & to love me back! I'm about 10 years old, already neutered & up-to-date on shots. I'm housetrained & crate trained. I'm used to sleeping in my crate at night. I'm just so sweet! Won't you give me a home? Click on DJ's page to see a photo of him in his winter sweater!

Duke

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Duke & I'm a very sweet beagle/basset mix. I'm an old guy - about 13-15 years old. I'm very sweet & gentle! I love to go outside & wander & sniff! I'm housetrained, although I have some incontinence so I need a home that doesn't mind accidents. I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard & a doggie door so I can go outside when I need to. I have seizures on a fairly regular basis (about every couple of weeks) or when I get upset. So I need a calm home in which someone is home a lot so they can keep an eye on me. I have some arthritis & since I'm a long-backed dog, I really need a 1-story home (no stairs for me!). I'm up-to-date on vaccines & neutered.

Ellie Mae

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Ellie Mae, & I'm a very sweet girl! I'm a tricolor beagle. I may have a little basset in me since I'm a little bigger than most beagles. I'm an older girl, & I'm very sweet! I'm very lively & love a good walk! I also love treats!! I need a dental, & so Nittany Beagle Rescue will make sure I have one before I'm adopted. Ellie Mae is living in a boarding kennel & is anxious to find her forever family! Ellie Mae is supposed to be good with other dogs, cats, & children! We believe she is housetrained. Click on Ellie Mae's page to see another photo of her.

Emmy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Emmy & I'm a very sweet senior female beagle. I need a new home! I'm a loving & affectionate dog! I'm also fairly sociable. I am quiet girl. However, I don't like to be left alone, & so I may bark if I'm alone. I'm good with other dogs & cats. I'm housetrained. I'm not used to being put in a crate. I like to sleep in bed with my person at night. I enjoy car rides & I will ride loose quietly. The best way to get me to do something is to use a treat! (I love treats!) I weight about 25 lbs. I'm already spayed & up-to-date on shots. Click on my page to see another photo of me! Please think about making me part of your family!

Flower

Bio at Adoption: Flower is a sweet beagle mix looking for her forever home! She is a puggle x blue tick hound cross, just around 25-30lbs. Flower came from a situation where her older owners couldn't care for her anymore because she still has energy despite being 8 years young. Flower is a great family dog, she loves kids of ALL ages! She is also extremely friendly and loves to give little kisses. She gets along great with other dogs as long as they don't try to intimidate her. Flower is also good with cats and tends to ignore them unless they come near her food bowl, but that's an easy fix - just feed Flower in a separate room! She is house trained, but not crate trained. Flower enjoys being home with her person, and she really enjoys car rides and walks, she'll get excited if you say "go bye byes," or pick up her leash. She rides really well loose in the car, she'll whine for a bit, but settle down and just watch out the window. Flower desperately needs a home! Flower will run if she gets loose, so her new family will have to make sure she is secure. Flower will be spayed prior to being adopted. Click on Flower's page to see another photo of her.

Freckles

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Freckles & I'm a very sweet male beagle mix! I'm about 6 or 7 years old. I need a new home! I'm an active fellow! I love to play, especially ball & tug! I'm good with other dogs, cats & children! I am also housetrained. When I need to go outside, I'll either bark or sit up real pretty. I am fine on a leash. I'll pull a bit on the leash when I go to the park (where there are lots of great smells!). I am very polite & attentive in an independent way! I will stay wherever you are & busy myself laying around or playing with a toy, or quietly watching you. I'm very obedient & I like to be next to my person (not on your lap or on top of you - but just close by). So I'm fantastic company for someone who is home a lot! I get anxious if you leave me alone. But I'm not destructive, instead I just get on any furniture I can get on (couch, bed, table ...). I am crate trained. So if you leave me alone, you could try putting me in a crate - I might be fine. It's best to speak to me in a gentle voice - I'll walk around with my tail between my legs if you use a firm voice. Poor Freckles has been bounced around a bit. His most recent owner had to surrender Freckles because he is allergic to him. Freckles is neutered & up-to-date on shots. He is living in a kennel & anxious to find his forever home! Please think about making Freckles part of your family! Click on Freckles' page to see another photo of him!

Gabby

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Gabby & I'm a wonderful 7-year old female beagle! I need a new home because my person passed away. I'm affectionate & easygoing! I'm a sociable dog - I get along well with children & other dogs. I love to play with children and other dogs! I've been around children as young as 1.5 years. I'm actually quite energetic & I like to be outside. I am housetrained & will whine at the door when I need to go outside. I like to sleep in bed with my person at night. Also, I enjoy car rides. I just recovered from knee surgery. I'm an active girl & it was hard to keep me quiet, but I'm doing well clinically. I have another knee that has given me problems in the past, but I'm doing fine now. However, my vet said that it's best to avoid overusing my rear legs (so probably a house without a lot of stairs would be best). I also have some separation anxiety and will bark when I'm alone. So I would do best in a home where there is another dog to keep me company. I don't like being in a crate. I am spayed, & up-to-date on shots. I'm ready to go to my forever home & I'm anxious to meet my new family! Maybe you're my new family! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Jessica

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Jessica & I'm a petite 15 lb. female beagle. I'm about 10 years old. Don't stop looking at me because of my age! My vet said that I'm as healthy as they come! Yes, I need joint meds, but who wouldn't at my age! I get along with other animals, but would prefer to have my family to myself. I love to just hang out & go for car rides! I'm very affectionate & I love to lick my people! So if you like kisses, I'm your girl! I also love to sleep in bed with my people at night! I prefer a fenced-in yard. I'm a sweet, lovable, friendly beagle girl! I'm also housetrained, crate trained, spayed, up-to-date on shots & microchipped! I prefer to be crated when you leave the house. I'm waiting to spend my senior years with a good family! Maybe that is you! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Kaylee

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Kaylee & I'm a very sweet 3-year old female beagle. I desperately need a new home! I'm staying in a boarding kennel, but I lack confidence & so the situation scares me. When I'm comfortable in my setting, I'm a happy go-lucky girl! My fur is so soft! I am fearful of other dogs & need to be the only dog in my home. Because I have confidence & trust issues, I need a home where there isn't a lot going on. So a family with mature teenagers or an adult-only home would be best for me. I am housetrained and spayed. I am under 20 lbs. Please think about giving me a home! I desperately need one! Click on Kaylee's page to see another photo of her!

Kittens

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. 7-week old black & white, & grey & white kittens are available for adoption. Some kittens are long-hair & others are short-hair. Both male & female kittens are available. The kittens are litter-box trained. They are good with children and other dogs & cats. Call 717-513-9406 if interested.

Lambeau

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Lambeau! I was named after the football payer! I'm a very sweet 5-year old male beagle. I'm a little guy - I only weigh about 20 lb.! I'm affectionate & loving, & very attentive to my people. I'm also an active fellow & I love to play! I love tug-of-war, ball & tag! I am housetrained & crate trained. I will whine when I need to go outside. I've been to the dog park & I do well with other dogs there! I haven't really been around cats, but I'm probably fine with them. However, young children intimidate me, & I need a home without young children. I would probably be fine in a home with older children who know how to treat a dog (say, 8 years & older). I know 'sit' & 'shake', plus I'm good on a leash! I'm living in a kennel right now, & I'm anxious to find my new forever home! Please think about making me part of your family! I'm a yellow & white beagle. I'm already neutered and up-to-date on shots. Click on my page to see another photo of me.

Leah

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Leah & I'm a 1-year old female beagle mix. I'm very playful & energetic, as most young dogs are! I'm also very loving! I love to follow my person around the house. I've been around other dogs, & I'm fine with them. I am skittish at first in new situations or around new people. So you have to be patient & let me warm up to you. I'm housetrained for the most part, but my family will have to work with me when I first come to my new home. However, I know to scratch at the door when I need to go outside, & I bark when I need to come back in. I've only been crated once, & I didn't like being in the crate. I'm spayed and up-to-date on shots. I'm looking for my new forever home! Are you it! I'm living in a boarding kennel & I'm so anxious to find my forever home! Click on my page to see a different photo of me!

Margo

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Meet Margo! Margo is a 13 year old spayed female beagle who came to Saving Older Beagles rescue from Pennsylvania after her owner died. She is just incredibly sweet! Perfect temperament, quiet and adorable. Margo needs to lose weight but we are already working on that with reduced calorie senior good food and walks in the nearby park. Margo gets along great with dogs, cats and kids too! The foster home has a cat and Margo ignores her. This sweet, sweet dog will do well in any home! If you would like to apply to adopt Margo, please send an email to joansdogs@aol.com for consideration.

Mo

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Mo! I'm a very loving & affectionate 7-year old male beagle! I'm an easy-going guy! I'm fairly quiet and obedient for a beagle! I like to play frisbee, ball, & tug-of war! I've also lived with another beagle, Bandit, who is also available for adoption. But we don't have to be placed together. We just need a new forever home! We lost our last home because our family had another child & with working long hours, they felt it was best that Nittany Beagle Rescue find us a new family who can give us the love & attention we deserve! I've lived with a child who is now 3 years old since the baby's birth. However, young children make me nervous, & so it's best that my home have older children or no children. I am living in a boarding kennel now & I'm anxious to find a loving home! I am housetrained & crate trained! I usually go out about every 3 or 4 hours once my person is home from work. I'm used to being free in the house during the day. I like to sleep in bed with my person at night! I don't really like car rides, though. I am afraid of loud noises, and sometime I'll growl - but I'm a really, really good boy. If I live with another dog, I may try to eat their food, so it's best to feed us separately. I am possessive over high-value treats like rawhides & pig ears with other dogs. I'm already up-to-date on shots, & I will be neutered before being adopted. I really need a new family! Maybe it's you! Please be my new family! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Sammie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sammie & I'm an affectionate & loving boy! I need a new home! I'm adorable! I'm a very friendly fellow, & I love attention! Children of all ages have visited with me, & I've been very good with them! I live with another dog (Hunter) & get along fine with him. (Hunter also needs a home, but we don't have to be placed together). I'm a well-behaved fellow! Also, I'm quiet for a beagle! I need a new home because my people retired and are traveling a lot, & so they want me to have a home where I can be loved & have lots of attention! I've lived outside in a pen, but Nittany Beagle Rescue can provide advice on housetraining. We think it won't be that hard to housetrain Sammie. Sammie needs a home as soon as possible! Please think about making him part of your family - even temporarily while we look for a permanent home for him. Sammie is 7 years old. Sammie will be neutered before he is adopted.
