Adopted Beagles, 2015

Annie Oakley

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Annie Oakley - Oak for short! I'm a female tricolor beagle. I'm about 3 years old. I am a great dog! I'm good with children! I love to run & be chased! I have lots of energy! I also love attention & I'm very lovable! I lived with a 5-year old child and have been exposed to toddlers, & I'm great with them! (If the child gets too rough, I just growl a little & then walk off). I didn't live with other dogs in my prior home, but when visitors brought their dog to my house, I was good with them. I seem to be ok with cats also. I am housetrained, but I will have an accident if you leave me alone in the house for more than 4 hours. I've been able to get out of crates in the past (both plastic & metal). But I'm fine left free when alone in the house. I might howl for a few minutes when you first leave, but then I stop. At night, I like to sleep in the bedroom under my people's bed. I don't really like dog treats. My photo is coming soon! I will be spayed before I'm adopted. I'm living in a boarding kennel & I desperately need a home! Please think about making me part of your family!

Barney

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Barney & I'm a real cutie! I'm a male beagle, probably about 6 years old. I am the friendliest fellow! I seem to be housetrained & crate trained. I seem to be fine with other dogs & older children. I do have a strong prey drive, so I can not go into a home with a cat, pet rabbit, guinea pig, etc. I ride well in a car. I am a runner, as most beagles are, & so I must be on a leash or in a securely fenced yard when outside. I am already neutered. Please think about making me part of your family! I'm living in a boarding kennel right now & I'm anxious to find my forever home! Click on my photo to see another picture of me. I'm such a handsome boy!

Bernie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bernie & I'm a great dog! I was in a shelter & my time was running out, but Nittany Beagle Rescue was able to take me! I'm living in a foster home waiting for my forever home to adopt me! I'm very laid back & love to take naps! I'm housetrained, & I do well with children, other dogs & cats! What more can you ask! I'm an older guy (13 years), but my vet recommends that I be neutered. So I will be neutered soon. Please think about making me part of you family! I have so much love to give!!! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Biggie

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Meet Biggie! This 11-year old male neutered beagle needs a new loving home due to owner moving overseas in early April. He is a really sweet guy, 34 pounds, fully vetted, and ready for a new home. Biggie has it all - looks, calmness, and he is also good with dogs and has lived with cats too! Biggie is in West VA and transport is being paid for by owner. If you are interested in Biggie for your family, please email joansdogs@aol.com for adoption application (Senior Pets NYC). Click on Biggie's page to see another photo of him!

Billy Beagle

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Billy Beagle! I was found as a stray & I just arrived at Nittany Beagle Rescue. I'm a really nice fellow! I can't wait until I have my very own loving, forever home! The people who found me said that I'm housetrained & crate trained. (I will bark in the crate when I need to go outside). I was on my own for awhile & I'm pretty thin. But Nittany Beagle Rescue is working on putting some weight on me. Because we don't know anything about Billy Beagle's history, we will only place him in a home with older children or no children. Billy Beagle is up-to-date on shots & will be neutered before he's adopted. Billy Beagle is living in a boarding kennel & needs a home! His photo is coming soon!

Binky

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Binky & I'm a very sweet 4-year old female beagle. I'm a real cuddlebug! I love to be under the blanket & cuddle up next to you! I'm also easygoing! I love car rides! I'm a sensitive soul, & am nervous around new people or in new situations. But it doesn't take long to get used to new people, & then I'm quite loving! I'm wonderful with adults & teenagers. However, children make me nervous, so I would do best in a home without children (under 13 or 14 years of age). I've lived with other dogs my entire life, & I love to play with them! Binky seems to be the dominant dog, at least sometimes. Binky is possessive with her food with other dogs, and so she should have her own food bowl. Binky is housetrained & crate trained, although she doesn't really like the crate. She will bark & get excited when she needs to go outside. She usually goes outside every 3-4 hours. Binky is protective of her people & home, so she will bark or growl at strangers coming into the house. Binky has had several homes over the past year or so. Her 1st owner moved, & then the second owner was allergic to her. She lived at a friend's house until Nittany Beagle Rescue took her. Binky is living in a kennel & desperately needs a home! Click on her page to see another photo of Binky! Binky is on the small side - she is probably under 25 lbs. Binky is already spayed, & will be up-to-date on shots before being adopted.

Buddy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Buddy & I'm an adorable 2-year old male tricolor beagle. I am just the sweetest guy! I'm very loving & affectionate. I love to snuggle in blankets. I also love attention! I'm very active & playful (as most young beagle are). I love to play fetch, ball & tug-of-war! I love children. (I was in a home with a 2-year old child, as well as 10 & 13-year olds!). Also, I was fine with the cat I lived with - although the cat didn't really care for me, so I couldn't really get close to the cat. I haven't lived with other dogs, but I seem to be okay with them. I'm housetrained & crate trained. I will bark or try to get your attention when I need to go outside, & I'm used to going outside every 3-5 hours. Sometimes I like to bark or dig, but that may be because I'm not getting enough exercise. Also, I will run off & follow my nose if I get loose. Nittany Beagle Rescue will try to find me a home with a securely fenced yard - which I would love! I ride well in a car, although I may get car sick if it's a longer drive. (I might do better if in a crate when riding in a car). I'm up-to-date on shots & will be neutered before being adopted. Right now I weigh 25 lbs. & I seem to be at a healthy, lean weight for a young active dog. I'm living in a boarding kennel now & I'm anxious to meet my forever family! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Chance

Bio at Adoption: Hello! My name is Chance and I am a 7-8 year old male beagle. I was rescued from a bad situation but despite that, I am as sweet as can be! I do very well with other dogs! I just want love and attention and a soft, safe place to lay my head. Could you be the forever family I've been looking for?! I'm already neutered & I'm working on housetraining in my foster home. Please think about making me part of your family!

Chloe

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Chloe & I'm a very sweet female tricolor beagle. I'm affectionate & loving! I'm also easygoing & relatively quiet for a beagle! I can be a little reserved. I'm about 13 years old, but I've got lots of spunk! I'm very sweet & playful! I need a new forever home because one of the people in my old family has health issues. I'm great with other dogs, children & adults! I've been around children as young as 6 years old. I'm used to going outside every 4-5 hours; I will pace or follow you around if I need to go outside. I love to sleep! That's one of my favorite things to do! I usually sleep on the bedroom floor with my people at night. I can be rambunctious on car rides. I have a tendency to have ear infections & skin allergies, so it's important I eat high quality food & you clean my ears regularly. (Right now I eat Taste of the Wild). I'm already spayed. Please think about making me part of your family!

Colin

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Colin & I'm a real cutie! I'm a male tricolor beagle, & I'm about 8 years old. I came to Nittany Beagle Rescue from a shelter, and so we don't know much about my history. I'm very friendly & loving! I seem to be good with everyone! My teeth are really bad & Nittany Beagle Rescue will pay for my dental surgery. I am already neutered and seem to be housetrained (although I will mark at first). I walk really well on a leash! Please give me a home! Click on my page to see another photo of me! Colin is living in a boarding kennel & needs a home!

Cookie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Cookie & I'm a very sweet 1 year-old female tricolor beagle. I'm a very energetic and playful dog! I love to play with toys & games like fetch, tag, tug-of-war, ball & puzzle toys! I'm also very loving & affectionate! I'm wonderful with children! I'm still a puppy so I like to chew on things! I'm crate trained. I'm also housetrained for the most part, although I still don't always know how to tell my people I need to go outside. So I just need a little more work on communicating that. I need to go outside every 2-3 hours, & will usually let you know with my body language. I'm good with other dogs for the most part. I don't always get along with little dogs (under 15 lbs in size) - but sometimes I get along just fine with them. I don't really like to share my toys with other dogs. I'm a little obsessive over cats & will chase them. I listen well. If I do something I shouldn't, then just say "no, no, Cookie". I'm fine on short car rides, although on longer ones I may get car sick. I like to fall asleep on the couch at night while my people watch TV. I'm already spayed & up-to-date on shots, & so I'm just waiting for the right forever home! I would do best with a family with a fenced-in back yard due to my high energy level. But I'll be fine without a fenced yard if you take me on long walk/runs. I weight between 25 & 30 lbs. Cookie is living in a kennel & desperately needs a home!

Copper

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Copper & I'm a very handsome 6-year old male beagle, & I desperately need a home! I'm loving & affectionate! I love to lay beside my person & snuggle under the covers with them! I also like to put my paws on my person's chest when they bend down! I can be a little shy at first if I'm in strange surroundings - but I'm easily won over with food! I'm active & playful! I love to play with a tennis ball, & fetch & tug-of-war! I've lived with other dogs, & I'm fine with them (although I can be possessive over my food & treats with them). In general, I don't like it when people touch my food when I'm eating. I've lived with children. I walk well on a leash (which is unusual for a beagle!). I enjoy car rides, but I can be rambunctious. I am not good with cats. I am cratetrained. I am housetrained, but may need a little work when I go into my forever home. I'm a great dog & just need a home! Please think about making me part of your family! I am neutered & up-to-date on shots. Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Dave

Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm Dave! I'm a very sweet 1.5 year old male beagle. I'm mainly black & brown with beautiful ticking! The person who had me didn't want me anymore & didn't even give me a name! (So NBR named me!) I'm a really calm fellow, & I ride really well in a car! I really like toys! I have always lived as an outdoor dog, & so I need a patient family who will work with me on housetraining. I'm a very smart fellow, though! I arrived at NBR in a crate, & so I might be crate trained. I can be a little timid over new things - like getting in a car, or going in a building. But I seem to be very gentle (& so you can calmly pick me up & carry me where I need to go). I am living in a boarding kennel, but I can't wait until I'm in a home & part of a family! I will be neutered before I'm adopted. Click on my page to see a different photo of me.

Flash Gorden

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! My name is Flash Gorden! I'm a male beagle/basset mix. I'm a young guy - only about 1 year old! I'm an active & playful fellow! I love to play ball & fetch! I can also be timid sometimes. I'm very loving! I like to sleep in bed with my person! I like to go to bed about 10pm, but I can adjust to your schedule! I've been raised around children aged 5 through 18, & do great with them! I will chase a cat, but just for play. Most of the time, I prefer to lounge around, unless I'm playing ball! I've lived with other dogs, & I'm fine with them for the most part. I am a dominant male, so I need to be the Dog-in-Charge. I can be possessive with my food around other animals, although I was just neutered & I'm already getting better with this! (I'm fine with people around my food). I'm housetrained, although sometimes I will make a mistake. I usually go outside every 4-5 hours. Flash might be less likely to make a mistake in the house now that he is neutered. He will go into a crate, but will cry & howl - so he needs some work with that. He does not like car rides at first. But then he settles down & goes to sleep if it's a longer ride. Flash responds best to praise & treats. Flash is living in a kennel & desperately needs a home! Please make Flash Gorden part of your family! Click on Flash's page to see another photo of him! Flash is available for adoption through Centre County PAWS. Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org

Gracie & Macie

Bio at Adoption: Greetings! We are Gracie & Macie! We are the sweetest girls! We love to give kisses. We are good with children! We have been around other dogs & cats & have been fine with them. We lost our home because our person was allergic & could no longer keep us. So now we desperately need a new home. We are housetrained & crate trained. We are 10-years old. Gracie is the tricolor beagle - she loves to cuddle with her person on the couch! Macie is the lemon & white beagle - she loves to sniff! Please think about giving Gracie & Macie a home! They are living in a boarding kennel right now, but they really need a couch to lounge on! Gracie & Macie are already spayed.

Happy

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi, my name is Happy?, and I am a very happy female beagle. I weigh about 24 pounds. I was found as a stray about 1.5 years ago, & I have come such a long way! I was very shy at first, but now I'm a confident girl! I may have been used as a breeding dog before I was rescued. I had to learn how to play with toys! Now I love my toys, especially my soccerball with treats inside. I also love long walks & to bark at what I see in my backyard. I love everyone I meet, though I may be shy at first with some humans. Some dogs are ok, others I may not care to be around. I love belly & chest rubs, & I will remind you that I need more of these by raising my front paw to allow for better belly access! I enjoy sitting on the couch watching TV next to my family. My favorite treats are peanut butter, carrots, lettuce, & peeled apples. I'm currently eating grain-free dog kibble to help my digestion. I am house-trained. I get excited & very focused on a few things that I really want, like my favorite soccer ball & I don't like to share. So I would do best as the only dog in the home. I know there is a wonderful home who will take me on lots of walks & give me lap-time. Please think about making me part of your family! Click on my page to see another photo of me. To learn more about me, call the Helen O Krause Animal Foundation: (717) 697-3377 & leave voice message; a volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Or you can e-mail: HOKAFI.DOGS@GMAIL.COM

Homer

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. This sweet beagle mix is all puppy! Homer is about 1 year old & is as sweet as can be! Homer came from a high-kill shelter in West Virginia. NBR Everyone loves this boy! He is curious & attentive! He's also a bundle of energy! Poor Homer has a scar on his neck from the collar he was wearing being too tight. Homer is very attentive to his person - he would love a job or agility! He seems to be fine with older children. He will chase a cat in play at first, but then settles down. Homer would probably do best as an only dog. Homer is up-to-date on shots & neutered. He seems to be housetrained. Click on Homer's page to see another photo of this adorable boy! Homer is available for adoption through Centre County PAWS: dogs@centrecountypaws.org

Jake

Bio at Adoption: Hi, my name is Jake & I'm very sweet 4-year old male beagle! I am affectionate & easy-going! I love to be fussed over & loved! I'm playful & active! I have lived with children aged 9 to 12 years & I'm great with them! I love to play with other dogs! I also love tug-of-war! I haven't been around cats. I'm probably fine, although I may chase them. I am housetrained & am used to going outside every couple of hours, but I hold it all night without a problem. I go to the door when I need to go outside. I used to be crate trained, but I really hate the crate now. I prefer to roam freely in the house when no one is home. I like to sleep in bed with my person. I ride well in a car. The best way to get me to obey is with praise. I love praise! I can be a little timid, so just take your time introducing me to new things. I am already neutered and up-to-date on shots. Now I'm just waiting for my forever home! Maybe it's you! Please think about making me part of your family. A new photo is coming soon - the photo on the web page is an old one.

Jetta

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Jetta & I'm a 9-month old female beagle. I'm a very sweet girl! I've got lots of energy & just love to run! I've lived with a 5-year old child & while I was good with him, I will nip in play. I also like to jump. So I need some training in those areas. I'm crate trained & nearly housetrained! I haven't lived with other dogs, but when I pass them on my walks, I just sniff. I haven't been around cats, yet. Chances are I would just chase them in fun. I'm living in a boarding kennel, & so I'm anxious to find my new forever home! I'm already spayed & up-to-date on vaccines. Please think about making me part of your family!

Kayden

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Kayden, which means friend & companion! I am true to my name! I love hanging out with my person! In fact, I like to be close to my people on the couch & in the bed. I love to snuggle under the covers with my person! I'm also good with children & cats! I'm fine most of the time with other dogs. I love stuffed toys! I am playful & a puppy at heart! But I'm also a very mellow, gentle & laid back fellow! I'm easy to walk on a leash. I know "sit," "stay," "come," "heel" & "down" - so I'm very well trained & obedient! I ride well in the car. I'm already housetrained, but will have an occasional accident if you don't keep an eye on me. I am cratetrained as well, although I will whine at first when you put me in it. However, once the lights go out, I will lay down & rest. I am already neutered & up-to-date on shots. I'm an older guy, & I'm the most endearing fellow you will meet! Please think about making me part of your family!

Kayla

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi, my name is Kayla & I need a home! I'm 13-inch, 6-year old tricolor female beagle. (The red & white beagle in the photo is Scarlet - she was already adopted). Kayla's owner was no longer able to care for her, & so now she looking for a new home. Kayla was kept outside in a pen, but now is staying indoors & loves it! Kayla is making great progress on housetraining, although you may need to work with her a little. She loves to be hugged & touched (Kayla wasn't touched much in her original home). She is good with other dogs, cats, children, & adults! What more could you want! Kayla must be on-leash or in a fenced area when outside. Please consider giving Kayla a home! She is up-to-date on shots, & will be spayed before being adopted. Please contact Mending Animal Hearts Rescue; if interested, please call LuAnne at 814-418-3078.

Lily

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Lily, & I'm an adorable 1-year old female beagle. I'm a very energetic dog (as most young beagles are!). I'm playful & love tug-of-war & ball! I'm also very loving & affectionate. I am jumping the 5-foot fence in my current home, & so I need a home in which I cannot get out of the secure outdoor area. If I get loose, I will follow my nose like a true beagle. I'm very good with children & I've been living with children as young as 4 years of age. I've also been living with cats & other dogs & I do well with them also. I am house trained & crate trained, & I ride well in a car. I am very attached to my people & have separation anxiety when left alone. Every now & then, if you touch my paws or if I'm trying to sleep, I will growl. I'm a young dog, & so I like to chew on things. I'll also dig in the yard & get into the garbage if you don't put it away. If you put me on a tie-out, I've been known to bark. I'm used to sleeping in a crate at night. Please think about making me part of your family! If I live with other dogs, I need to be the dominant one. Click on my page to see another photo of me! I am already spayed & up-to-date on shots. Lily is in desperate need of a home!

Lucy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Lucy & I'm just the sweetest girl! I'm an easygoing & happy girl! I'm also very loving & sociable! But I can be a little hardheaded at time (like most beagles). I lived in a cage all my life & had lots of puppies, until a kind person provided me with a new (temporary) home. So now I'm available for adoption through Nittany Beagle Rescue! I'm housetrained. I go outside about 3 or 4 times a day, & will stare at you if I need to go outside. I like to play tug-of-war & ball! I'm very obedient when I'm in the house (but I'm not obedient when outside, just like most beagles). At night, I like to sleep on the couch or beside my person's bed. My foster mom puts me in a crate when she leaves the house. However, since I spent most of my life in a crate, I want a home where someone is home a lot! I'm an older gal - about 11 years. I will be spayed before being adopted. Please give me my forever home! A photo is coming soon!

Maggie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Maggie, & I'm a very sweet female tricolor beagle. My owner recently passed away, and so now I'm looking for a new family who will love & care for me forever. I'm 7-8 years old, and I'm a sociable & active girl! Also, I'm very loving & affectionate! I prefer to sleep in bed with my person at night. I'm a very quiet dog! I am housetrained and crate trained. I go to the door when I need to go outside. (I'm used to going outside about every 6 hours). I seem to be fine with older children and other dogs. I ride well in a car. I am already spayed & up-to-date on shots. Please make me part of your family!

Maggie 2

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Maggie & I'm a very sweet female, tri-color beagle. I was at a shelter but they were running out of space, & so Nittany Beagle Rescue brought me in! I was found as a stray with May, who is also available for adoption. I'm about 5 years old. I seem to be fine with children and other dogs. I'm very laid back. I love to sit on my person's lap (as you can see in my photo)! I ride well in a car! Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't know how I am with cats - but I'm probably fine with them since I'm so good-natured! Because I was found as a stray, I will be placed in a home with older children or no children since we don't really know how I am with young children. I seem to be housetrained & crate trained! I am up-to-date on shots & spayed. I'm living in a kennel & I'm anxious to meet my new family & be in my forever home! Please think about making me part of your family! Click on my page to see a different photo of me!

Marianne & Maxine

Bio at Adoption: These two sweet girls were surrendered to a local kennel owner. Marianne & Maxine are about 25 lbs. each. We think they are aussie/beagle mixes. They really need a loving forever home! They can be placed in separate homes. Please think about giving Marianne or Maxine a forever home!

May

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is May & I'm a very sweet female, tri-color beagle. I was at a shelter but they were running out of space, & so Nittany Beagle Rescue brought me in! I was found as a stray with Maggie 2, who is also available for adoption. I'm about 5 years old. I seem to be fine with children and most other dogs. I'm very laid back & love to be next to my person! I like to sit on my person's lap!

Nemo

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Nemo & I'm a 4-year old male beagle! I am all puppy! I'll run around & play, & then sleep! My favorite games are tug-of-war & ball. I'm an attentive boy! I love my people! I am good with children of all ages, & other dogs! I haven't been around cats, but I'm probably fine with them (although I may chase them in fun). I am very obedient for a beagle! Plus I ride very well in a car! I am frightened of loud noises. I'm housetrained & cratetrained. I like my crate & it makes me feel secure. I'm used to going outside 4-5 times a day. I also know how to use a doggie door! I am on the large side for a beagle. I am already up-to-date on shots & neutered. I am living in a boarding kennel, so I really need a home. Please think about making me part of your family!

Reggie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Reggie & I'm a 6-7 year old male beagle mix! I am a very friendly fellow! I like to pay attention to my people! I'm also easygoing! I lived with children (ages 8 & 13) & other dogs, & I get along with everyone! I'm a curious type of guy - the folks at Nittany Beagle Rescue call me The Philosopher since I have a philosophical approach to things! I'm housetrained & cratetrained. I will go to the door or get excited when I need to go outside; I'm used to going outside about 4 times/day. When you're not home, I prefer to be loose in the house. I like to play with stuffed toys, & I absolutely love to go for walks! I like to sleep in my own bed, next to my people's bed at night. I ride well in a car. I will bolt out the door, so you have to be careful about closing doors & gates immediately. However, I was just in a home & was returned for aggressively chasing the cat. (I used to be called Oregano, but I was renamed Reggie & I like that name!). I am neutered & up-to-date on shots. Please think about making me part of your family! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Roxie the 2nd

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Roxie! I'm the sweetest little girl. I'm about 2.5 years old & I'm a tricolor beagle. I'm a very active dog. I'm playful - I love to play tug-of-war & fetch! I'm also loving & affectionate, & very sociable! I've been living in a home with children as young as 4-years of age & I'm excellent with them! I have to be on a leash or in a fenced yard when outside, or I will run off. I'm housetrained & crate trained. I will bark or go to the door when I need to go outside. I like car rides! I've been living with a cat & I do fine with the cat. I haven't been around dogs much, but when I meet one on a walk, I'm fine with them. I need a new home because a member of the family has become severely allergic to animals. Will you be my new family? I'm already spayed & up-to-date on shots. I'm living in a boarding kennel & need a home! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Roxy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Roxy & I'm an adorable 2.5-3 year old female beagle! I'm an extremely active & playful girl! In fact, you could call me rambunctious! I like to play fetch, tag & tug-of-war. I am very sociable & love attention! I love to cuddle & sleep in bed with my people at night. I am excellent with other dogs, cats & young children! I will jump & have jumped on things as high as 3 feet. Sometimes I will get in the garbage, so you need to put it in away. I learned all basic commands easily (come, sit, lie down, touch), I am crate trained, but I'm used to being babygated into the kitchen area when no one is home. I'm housetrained, but may have accidents if you don't watch me carefully. I will whine at the door when I need to go outside. However, I have been in an at least 4 homes in my short life & I do have issues that require an experienced dog owner to deal with. In addition, I'm extremely active and require a fenced yard and regular exercise in order to direct all my energy to positive things! I will run out the door & I'm extremely fast (like a bullet!), and so my home needs to be able to have safeguards to prevent me from doing that. I am very happy to cuddle on the sofa, too, and love just hanging out with my people. I'm allergic to all squeeze-on flea medicines, so it's important to use only Sentinel in pill form or natural flea controls on me. I'm waiting for my forever home! I'm spayed & up-to-date on shots. Sadie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sadie & I'm the sweetest little girl! I'm a lemon & white beagle - mainly white. I'm quite pretty! I'm also young - I'm only about 1.5 years old. I'm active & playful! I'm also quite sociable & a happy girl! I'm very affectionate. I love to be petted! I am housetrained & crate trained. I really like my crate - just leave the door open during the day & I'll go in when I need my quiet time. I sleep in my crate at night also. When I need to go outside, I'll circle & sniff, or go to the door & whine a little. I've been taught not to jump on people - just stand with your hands behind your back & I'll stop jumping on you! I was originally rescued from a bad situation, & I don't like loud sounds. I'm good with cats, but I would probably do best as an only dog. I haven't lived with children, but should be fine living in a home with older children who know how to handle a dog. I will jump a 4 or 5 foot fence, & so I need nice long walks on a leash a few times a day to get the exercise I need. I am already spayed & up-to-date on shots. I am possessive over my food & so I would do better in a home with older children. I am living in a boarding kennel & I desperately need a home! Please think about making me part of your family! Sadie Mae & Sallie Sue

Bio at Adoption: Hi! We're Sadie Mae & Sallie Sue! We are affectionate & loving 5-year old female tricolor beagles. Sadie Mae is sociable & quite playful, while Sallie Sue is more reserved & timid. We are very bonded & need to be placed together. (Sallie Sae becomes anxious when she is away from Sadie Mae). We have been raised with young children & we are very docile. We are also housetrained & cratetrained. We will go to the door when we need to go outside. We both like to play ball, fetch & tag. Sadie Mae also likes to play tug of war. We like to sleep in bed with our person at night. We don't really like car rides. We will be spayed before being adopted. Please think about giving us a loving, forever home! In the photo, Sallie Sue is in the front & Sadie Mae is in the back.

Sammi

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sammi & I'm a very sweet 2.5 year old female beagle! I'm a very active, playful dog & I have lots of energy (like most young beagles). My favorite games are tug-of-war & ball. I'm also affectionate! I've been raised with very young children & I'm excellent with them! I've also lived with a cat, & while I will chase the cat, I've never hurt the cat. I'm playful when I'm with another dog - although I can be a little rough for seniors. I am housetrained & used to going outside 2-3 times/day for extended periods of time. I'll whimper when I need to go outside. I'm also crate trained, & I'm used to being crated when no one is home. I would prefer to sleep with my people at night. I ride well in a car. I can be timid at times, so I should be introduced to new things slowly. I'm also frightened of loud sounds. I'm still a puppy & will jump on you & will counter surf - so I need someone patient who can work with me on my manners. I'll also raid the garbage, so you'll want to cover your garbage cans or put them in a cupboard/closet. I like to dig when I'm outside in the yard (just like lots of dogs)! I will growl if I get something I shouldn't have & you try to take it from me, but that's also a training issue. I'm already spayed & up-to-date on shots. I just need a home that has the time to spend with me, & can give me the exercise I really need! I'm a bigger girl - about 50 lbs. Click on my page to see another photo of me resting!

Shilo

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Shilo, but you can call me Shi or Sky or short! I'm a female tri-color beagle, & I'm as sweet as can be! I'm only about 1.5 years old. I'm very sociable & want to please my people! I love to cuddle next to my people on the couch! I still have a lot of puppy in me, so it's best to crate me when no one is home. You can call me to the crate with a treat & I'll go right in! I might whimper in the crate for a few minutes, but then I'm fine. I'm used to being crated at night, but would probably love to sleep in bed with my people! I do very well with young children, other dogs & cats! I'm not dominant with other dogs, but I will defend myself if another dog tries to push me around. I love nylabones, & like to hoard the toys! I will shred soft toys & tennis balls. I like to play tug of war with the other dogs! When I was rescued, I had already had a litter of pups. The people who rescued me worked with me on house manners and house training. I've made great progress! When I need to go outside, I will go to the door & bounce against the door or run frantically around the house. When I want to come back in, I'll bounce against the door. I will be spayed and up-to-date on vaccines before being adopted! My photo is coming soon!

Sooty

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sooty & I need a new home! I'm a beautiful & affectionate 4-year female beagle. I'm a happy girl! I'm also playful! I like to play fetch, tug-of-war & ball! I enjoy being outside! I also enjoy car rides. I love to sleep in bed with my person at night. I am housetrained & I'm used to going outside 4 times a day. (I go to the door when I need to go outside). I'm okay with other dogs - some dogs I like to play with, but there are others that I don't want to come too close to me. (I did live with a lab for 1 year once). I've been exposed to the children in the neighborhood & I do well with them. I protect my food & food-based treats (like rawhides, cow hooves, etc.). So I need a family in which all members will stay away from my food while I eat. Please think about giving me a home! I desperately need one!

Sophie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sophie & I'm a wonderful 6-year old female beagle mix! I get along great with children, other dogs & cats! I'm an energetic girl! (I may have some Brittany spaniel in me). I need a new home because my prior owners had too many animals. I'm the sweetest thing! I love to sit in my person's lap! I ride well in a car. I am up-to-date on shots & am already spayed. I'm anxious to meet my new family! Please think about making me part of your family! I'm housetrained. I'm very quick & will run out the door, so everyone in the family has to be careful. Click on my page to see a different picture of me!

Squiggles

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Squiggles & I'm a wonderful female beagle mix! I was at the shelter & they were running out of space, & so Nittany Beagle Rescue took me. I had puppies about 5 months ago - all the puppies were adopted from the shelter, but no one wanted me! So here I am - waiting for my new forever home! I have a great personality! I am good with children, cats & other dogs! I am very loving & laid back! I like to please! I will do several tricks for a treat (like speak, shake with both paws, sit pretty & lie down!). I need to be close to my person, & I will whine when my person leaves. I sleep in bed with my person at night! I do have separation anxiety & will bark when none of my people aren't home. (The presence of other animals doesn't make a difference). For this reason, I would do best in a home where there is some distance between houses. I am housetrained. I do not do well in a crate & should not be crated. I'm already up-to-date on shots & spayed. I'm about 7-8 years old. Click on my page to see a different photo of me!

Sweetie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sweetie! Just like my name says, I'm very sweet! I'm a tricolor female beagle. I'm only about 5-6 months old. I'm an active girl (as most young beagles are!). I'm also very affectionate & happy. I was rescued from a bad situation with Daisy Mae who is also available for adoption. Because of the bad situation I was in, I'm timid & fearful. So my new family will need to be patient & gentle with me. Daisy Mae & I have gone through a lot together & comfort each other. So we would prefer to be placed together. I'm crate trained, but I need work on housetraining. I'm good with other dogs & cats. I haven't lived with children, but should be fine living in a home with older children who know how to handle a dog (say 12 years or older). I will be spayed before being adopted. Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Wagner

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Wagner! I'm the sweetest guy! I'm an older fellow. I'm playful & very loving! I was a stray & spent time at the shelter until Nittany Beagle Rescue was able to take me. I'm good with children, other dogs & cats! So I'm a pretty great guy! I need work on housetraining and crate training, so I need a home who will be patient with me while I learn about those things. I'm up-to-date on shots & neutered. Please give me a forever home! A better photo is coming soon!
