Adopted Beagles, 2012

Bailey

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bailey & I'm an adorable 6 year-old male beagle. I'm very laid back & loving! I love to cuddle up next to you. I know sit and down, and respond well to small treat rewards! I ride well in a car and enjoy having my head out of the window! I am very social and love everyone I meet! I need a new home because my prior family moved & couldn't take me with them. Now I am living in a boarding kennel, which makes me very sad. I'm already housetrained! I am possessive over rawhides, so do not give me rawhides or pig ears, or other high-value treats. Please think about making me part of your home - I desperately need one!

Bella

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi, I'm Bella! Due to a move, I need to find a good home! Bella is a healthy 10 yr old pure-bred Beagle. She is an affectionate, extremely sweet, calm, gentle soul, who enjoys spending time with her humans. She loves to be loved. Bella enjoys going for short walks and loves to ride in the car. She is also very content just sitting by your side. A fenced-in yard would be great! Although Bella gets along with other dogs and cats she prefers to be your one and only. Bella would do great with someone who is looking for a companion. She enjoys being with people and has a very pleasing disposition. Bella has already been spayed. Bella is currently living with a foster mom in Westport, CT. If you would like to meet sweet Bella, please call Patricia at 917-865-6380. Please click on my page to see a different (& larger) photo of me!

Bella & Lucy

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! We're Bella & Lucy, and we are purebred tricolor beagle sisters! We desperately need a new home. One of the people in our family has become severely allergic to us & we can't stay in our home any longer! Please give us a new home. You will be glad you did! We're housetrained, cratetrained, spayed, & good with young children! We are also easy-going & well-behaved dogs. We are very loving & affectionate. We like to hang out on the couch with our people, but at night, we prefer to sleep together in a crate. We get along with other dogs. We've never been around a cat, but the folks at Nittany Beagle Rescue think we would be fine with them. So really, we would fit into any home! We about 8 years old & always been together. Please think about making us part of your family! You'll be glad you did! In the photo, Lucy is in front & Bella is behind her. Click on Bella & Lucy's page to see another photo of them! Lucy is on the left & Bella is on the right.

Bert

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bert & I am a wonderful 6-7 year old male beagle! I am a very mellow fellow! I love treats & will sit & shake for one! I have been around children of all ages & am great with them! I am good with cats also! I am good with most other dogs, but sometimes I meet a dog I don't like. I am housetrained, but sometimes I have an accident when no one is home. So it's best to crate me when everyone is away from the house. I will bark in the crate, though. I like to sleep in the room with my people at night! I am already neutered. I am living in a kennel & desperately need a home! (I'm starting to lose weight from the stress of living in a kennel). Please think about making me part of your family!

Bo & Luke

Bio at Adoption: Hi! Meet Bo & Luke! Bo is Luke's father, & they are extremely bonded. They were "dropped off" at someone's home, but the person who found them can't keep them. These fellows are extremely sweet! They are housetrained & cratetrained! (They sleep together in the same crate). They are good with other dogs. We haven't seen them around cats, but they are probably fine. They have been around a 13-year old child & are also fine with her. They are very, very nice dogs who desperately need a home! (They will be living in a boarding kennel soon). Please think about giving Bo & Luke a loving home! They will be neutered before being adopted.

Casey

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Casey & I'm a male beagle mix. I'm a small little guy - about 12 lbs. I'm a real nice fellow & desperately need a home. It takes me awhile to warm up so I will need someone to be patient with me but once I warm up I am such a cuddlebug!! I love to flop over and have my belly rubbed! I LOVE car rides and I ride very well in the car! Right now I'm living in a boarding kennel. I was found as a stray in town, & so I'm probably housetrained. I might be mixed with possible chihuahua. Please think about giving me a home! You will be glad you did!

Charlie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Charlie and I'm a 7-8 month old male tricolor beagle. I'm such a cuddler! I'm very lovable & I love to be held! Everyone says that I'm such a sweetheart! Charlie is a curious pup. His foster home reports that he is part mountail goat since he like to climb on furniture. Charlie is already cratetrained and making great progress on housetraining! Charlie is in his chewing phase, so you have to put your shoes away! He is neutered and up-to-date on shots.

Chiffy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Chiffy! I am about 8 years young, and I act very young! I am very easy to walk. I don't pull on the leash or stray off the path! In the house, I love to sleep, but I'm also playful! I enjoy tossing around a plush toy. I am already spayed and don't have any major health issues. I am a perfect weight - about 22 lbs.! I've had all my annual checkups and vaccinations. I am houstrained & good with other dogs! I live with teenagers, & I am great with them! I am also good with younger children who approach me calmly & respectfully. Please think about making me part of your family!

Daisy

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! My name is Daisy. I lived in my last home for about 2.5 yrs. I would like to tell you a little about myself. After living at my home as an only dog for a couple years, a new dog came to live with us. I really enjoy meeting other dogs and playing, I think other dogs are a lot of fun. I never had to share my treats and toys with any other doggies before, so I didn't know how to share well and that other dog kept trying to take my stuff, the nerve! The next thing I knew, I was at the Humane Society and the other dog got to stay in my house. I hope somebody sees how special I really am. They said if I were to live with another dog, we wouldn't be able to have bones or food just lying around, but that's OK because they make you fat anyway and I'm watching my girlie figure! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Dutchess

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Dutchess and I'm a 3-year old female beagle. I need a new home because my owner died. I lived with Spencer, who is was just adopted. Our owner loved us very much & took very good care of us. We slept in bed with him & were always with him. Now we are living in a boarding kennel and desperately need a home. I'm good with children and other dogs. I haven't really been around cats, but I'm probably fine with them. I am housetrained, spayed & up-to-date on shots. Our owner liked to give us lots of snacks, & so we would both benefit from a healthy diet & more exercise. Please give me a home!

Heidi

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. The time, weeks, maybe months, before Heidi found herself “rescued” was not kind. Heidi arrived in less than optimal condition, covered in ticks, and injured rear leg, scratches over her face, broken teeth and an ear & dental infection, yet her spirit was intact! Heidi gleefully accepted the help of the shelter and was such a pleasant patient. She stood still for hours while staff cleaned up. Surgery was performed to repair all the damage to her teeth and antibiotics for the infections. Heidi became the shelter's S.T.A.R. Patient (special treatment & recovery). She is now spending her days lounging and waiting for a special someone to give her love to. Heidi is good with gentle children and loves the other pets in her foster home. She enjoys walks outside and is ready to snuggle when in. Heidi’s nose works 110%, she is a beagle after all, but her hearing isn’t up to par due to age and ear infections. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. She sleeps in her crate quietly though the night. If you are looking for a companion and easy walking partner, Heidi just may be the one for you! Heidi is spayed, cratetrained, & working on housetraining. Click on Heidi's page to see another photo of her!

Huck

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Huck, & I'm a 3-year old male beagle mix. I have beautiful blue eyes! I am living in a boarding kennel with my sister, Tink. We desperately need a home! I am already housetrained, neutered & up-to-date on shots. I love people and am very, very affectionate! I suffer from separation anxiety, & so please adopt me with my sister, Tink, - or if you have other dogs already, maybe one of them can be my new best pal! I am frightened oif loud sounds, like gunshots. Please give me a home!

Lady

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Lady, & I'm a female beagle who just loves to cuddle with my people! I'm about 4 years old. I used to belong to an older couple who kept me outside in a small run, but then then a nice family rescued me. The family can't keep me, but they will foster me while Nittany Beagle Rescue looks for my new forever home! I've been around children as young as 3 years of age, & I am very good with them - I just want to jump up & give them kisses! I'm living with other dogs & a cat right now, & I do very well with them. I especially like to play with dogs my size or smaller! I'm timid around high strung dogs that are bigger. I'm making great progress on my housetraining, although I still have some accidents. I will sit & stare at you or follow you to the door when I need to go outside. I love to play - fetch, tag & ball are my favorites! I love to sleep in bed with my person at night & cuddle up tight next to my person! I'm not cratetrained, in fact, the crate scares me. I am frightened when riding in a car, so it would be best to not take me on trips. Also, I will cower if you raise your voice - but I respond very well to praise & treats. Please think about giving me a home! You will be glad you did! I will be spayed before being adopted.

LadyBird

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is LadyBird & I'm an adorable female beagle who needs a home! Lady Bird is a little lover. She is calm and gentle and wants nothing more than to sit beside you and be petted. She has limited hearing but can still see very well and sniff too! She Loves kids and will follow them everywhere. She is a little weak in her hips but still does stairs like a champ and will turn in circles when she gets excited or for peanut butter. Her foster family lets her play in the yard when they are outside and she stays right with them, following her foster dad all over the yard. She likes the foster family's other other dogs & cat. She would be perfect for a calm household and wouldn’t require a lot of exercise but would need a soft bed and her blankie to cuddle. She is doing well with house training and will give subtle hints that she needs to go out. However, she still needs some extra help with housetraining when you bring her home. LadyBird had a dental that took care of some painful teeth and two mammary masses removed and this has given her an added spunk in her step. If you’re looking for a calm sweet little lover Lady Bird is the girl of your dreams! Please think about making LadyBird part of your family!

Lucky

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Lucky and I'm an adorable 10 month-old male beagle. I am an affectionate, sociable and playful pup! I am also very active. I love to play ball, tag & tug-of-war! I enjoy car rides! I belonged to an elderly couple who had trouble keeping up with me, and so I'm a little overweight. I need someone who can help me shed those few extra pounds! I lived with another dog in my prior home, & got along well with that dog. I could use some some additional training. I know how to use a doggie door, but I need work on housetraining. I will run out the door, jump up on people, and steal, so my new owners will want to work with me on those things, also. I come back most of the time if you call me & if you act real happy to see me! I like to chew on things - but of course, that's what puppies do! I will need an experienced owner who can work with me on those training issues. I respond very well to praise (& food!). I'm not cratetrained yet. I am already neutered! I am living in a kennel, and I am very frightened. So I need a home!

Marla

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Marla! I'm one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet! I'm a tricolor 9-year old female beagle. My owners can't keep me any more because their apartment won't allow dogs - so please think about giving me a home! I am living in a boarding kennel (because there aren't enough foster homes). That's no place for an older gal, especially in the middle of the winter! I'm very gentle & sweet! I'm a quiet dog, & I bark mainly when chasing squirrels & rabbits. I've been around children of all ages, & I'm friendly with them. I also get along well with other dogs, although I can be a little possessive over rawhides with them (as many dogs are!). I'm housetrained & createtrained. Please think about making me part of your family! I desperately need a home!

Max

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Max is an 11 year old beagle in need of a forever home. He is great with other dogs and people of all ages. He would probably best in a home with other dogs or with humans who work from home. Max is housetrained, neutered, & up to date on all his vaccinations.

Mindy

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Mindy is an adorable 2-year-old spayed Beagle/King Charles mix who weighs 20 pounds. She came to PAWS from the Nittany Beagle Rescue. Since Mindy is still young, she has lots of energy and puppy-like behavior. Due to her high-energy level, Mindy would do best in a home with older children or no children. She is good with other dogs, but it is unknown whether she would be good with cats or not. Mindy will need training on basic commands, house breaking, and crate training in her new home. Mindy is living at the center, so she can be seen any time that PAWS is open. Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org if you are interested in adopting her!

Oreo

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Oreo, & I'm a 3.5 year old female beagle. I am an active & playful girl! I'm also very affectionate & attentive! I love to play fetch, tug of war, & ball. You name it, I just love to play! I'm a very obedient dog. I even walk on a leash without pulling! I love praise, & the best way to get me to do something is to praise me! I love to play with the cat that lived in my prior home. I've also been around dogs to a limited extent. I enjoy car rides and do extremely well in the car. When I need to go outside, I will bark & go to the door. Of course, when I go to my new forever home, I won't really know where the door is, so my new family will have to be patient while I learn where things are at. I need a new home because my family is working long hours. Now I am living in a kennel, extremely scared, & desperately need a home. Please think about making me part of your family! I don't like to be picked up, especially from the front. (Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks that at one point in my life, someone was rough with me). I would do best in a home with no children or mature children (12 or older) who already know how to handle a dog properly. I am already spayed.

Otis

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! My name is Otis, & I'm a senior beagle mix. I am living in a kennel & desperately need a new home - I'm too old for that kind of life, especially with winter coming on. I am very calm and an excellent companion. I'm good with children, other dogs and cats as well as being house trained. I have separation anxiety and get very stressed in a crate. I am neutered, up-to-date on shots & weigh about 47 lbs. I am avilable for adoption through Centre County PAWS. Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org is you would like to learn more about me!

Paris

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Paris is a 2-year-old spayed Beagle/King Charles mix who weighs 20 pounds. She came to PAWS from the Nittany Beagle Rescue. Even though Paris is 2-years-old, she still has lots of energy and puppy-like behavior. Because of this, Paris would do best in a home with older children or no children. She is good with other dogs, but it is unknown whether she would be good with cats or not. In her new home, Paris will need work on basic commands, house breaking, and crate training. She is living at the center, so she can be seen any time that PAWS is open. Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org if you are interested in adopting her!

I am living in a boarding kennel right now & desperately need a home! I'm very sad since I lost my family and home. I've lived with other dogs & cats & I'm wonderful with them! (In fact, I lived with Toby, who is also available for adoption). I'm an active and playful dog! I love to play tag! I'm also very affectionate and loving. Sometimes I'm insecure, but just introduce me to new things slowly. I've been around children as young as 10 years of age & I'm very good with them. I'm housetrained and cratetrained. When I need to go outside, I will go to the door. I usually sleep in a crate at night. I'm already spayed and up-to-date on shots. Please give me a home soon!

Raymond

Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm a wonderful 1.5 year old full-blooded male beagle named Raymond Bootjack. But you can call me Raymond, for short! I need a new home because my owner moved to small apartment & couldn't keep me. I'm very energetic - of course, I'm a young guy, so that's to be expected :) ! I'm a wonderful family dog! I'm good with other dogs, cats & children of all ages! Sometimes I will chase cats, especially if I'm excited. But I'm not aggressive at all - I'm just having a little fun. I love to play ball, fetch with toys, and cuddle after a long day of playing! I'm very, very lovable (especially after you get me tired out!) I am housetrained, but will have an accident if you're gone too long. Also, I may have a few accidents when I first enter a new situation - but that's just because I don't know what is expected of me yet. I will bark when I'm outside. I especially like to bark at the moles in the ground. I am already neutered. I'm living in a boarding kennel right now & I'm very frightened! (I'm used to being in a home with a loving family). Please think about making me part of your family! I desperately need a new home! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

I love to run & play with the ther dogs in the back yard of my foster home! When I'm excited, I will bark. I love chewing on cow hooves (the kind you buy in the store). I'm already neutered & cratetrained! My foster home is working on housetraining. I'm very smart, so I should learn the rules of living in a house quickly. I'm a beagle mix, but my personality is 100% beagle! Please think about making me part of your family!

Rosie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Rosie and I am an adorable 3-4 year old female beagle. I'm on the small side. I am sweet and affectionate. I like to sleep in bed with my people, but I do snore when I sleep! I have been around older children and dogs, and get along well with them! I am housetrained, but will have a few accidents a week. I also know how to use a doggie door! I am cratetrained also, although I will howl for a bit when you first put me in. I am very smart and learn quickly! I'm a happy dog! In terms of my interaction with other dogs, I'm on the submissive side, although I will sniff them a lot at first. I ride very well in a car, and I walk well on a leash. I am living in a kennel right now & need a home! Won't you please give me a loving home? Rosie is up-to-date on shots.

Roxie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Roxie & I'm as sweet as can be! I'm about 7 months old. I'm very playful, but I'm also content to just relax on the couch with my people! I listen well, too! When I have to go out, I will go and stand at the door. I am very smart and learn quickly! I also understand the difference between toys and furniture, so I don't chew on furniture. I am crated when no one is home. This helps ensure that I don't get into trouble when left alone. I can be timid, so you will need to introduce me to new things slowly, although I'm getting better! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Sally

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Sally & I'm an adorable 13-month old female beagle. I'm as sweet as can be! I weight about 23 lbs. I belonged to an elderly gentleman who was not able to take care of me. He kept me outside most of the time, so I will need work on housetraining. However, I'm very smart & the folks at Nittany Beagle Rescue think I will learn quickly! When I was in the house, I liked to sit next to my person on the chair. I can't wait to be able to cuddle up with with new family! I'm cratetrained & up-to-date on shots. I am living in a boarding kennel right now because there aren't enough foster homes. Please think about making me part of your family! I can't wait to be part of a family soon! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Sandy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sandy, & I'm the sweetest little lemon & white female beagle you can imagine! My life has been been very sad lately. My owner surrendered me to the shelter because he was no longer able to take care of me. Then I was adopted by a 95-year-old gentleman, & his son was going to help care for me, but the son passed away. Please give me a home. I'm wonderful with other dogs & children! I will be spayed before being adopted. I may need a little work on housetraining. I'm about 7 years old, but I have lots of energy!

Spencer

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Spencer and I'm a 10-year old happy-go-lucky male beagle! I need a new home because my owner died. I lived with Dutchess, who is also available for adoption. Our owner loved us very much & took very good care of us. We slept in bed with him & were always with him. Now we are living in a boarding kennel and desperately need a home. It would be great if Dutchess & I could go to our new home together, but we know it's more important that we just get a new home that will pamper us as much as our prior owner. Especially me, I'm an older guy - I should be hanging out on the couch or a dog bed! I'm good with children and other dogs. I haven't really been around cats, but I'm probably fine with them. I am housetrained, neutered & up-to-date on shots. Our owner liked to give us lots of snacks, & so we would both benefit from a healthy diet & more exercise. Please give me a home!

Tessie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Tessie! I'm a very gentle and calm female beagle! I love to be with people! One of my favorite things to do is to sit next to my person! I'm good with children and other animals. I'm about 8 years old, so I would do best in a house in which the children are mature and would be gentle with me. I'm up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, housetraine & cratetrained! Please think about giving me a forever home!

Tink

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Tink, & I'm a 3-year old female beagle/shepherd mix. I'm a little chunky, so it would be good if my new family put me on a healthy diet & exercuse plan! Wilbur

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Wilbur! I'm one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet! I'm an older fellow. I was found as a stray by a very nice person. She found out that I have been either sorely neglected or on my own for awhile. My nails were curled under; I had hot spots & was pretty dirty. She clipped my nails & washed me twice over! I look & feel much better now! I am extremely friendly! I'm cratetrained, & working on housetraining in my foster home. Nittany beagle Rescue took me to the vet, & the vet found got some health issues that prevent me from being neutered. I may have some trouble hearing. Please think about giving me a forever home!
