Adopted Beagles, 2011

Angel

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Angel & I am an absolute angel! I am a 6-year old tri-color female beagle. I am a happy, easy-going dog! I am also very loving & sociable! I have been around children as young as 6 years of age & do well with them. I live with Tank, also available for adoption, & we would love to go to our new forever home together. But if you can only take me, that is okay. Tank & I are living in a boarding kennel (because Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't have enough foster homes), & so we both really, really need a home! I am housetrained. I come when called & walk on a leash without pulling. I like car rides! I also like to play fetch. I am good with other dogs & cats. I sleep in bed with my person. Sometimes I will sleep in a crate. I like to sit on my person's lap when everyone is sitting on the couch watching TV. I am already spayed & up-to-date on shots. Please make Tank & me (or at least me!) a part of your family!

Belle

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Belle & I'm a tricolor female beagle/basset mix. I'm only 2.5 years old! I am the perfect dog! I'm good with children of all ages & other dogs! I'm housetrained & cratetrained (although I haven't been in a crate since I was a puppy). I am easy-going! I like to run after a toy or stick & will even bring it back to you sometimes! I am already spayed. I weigh about 28 lbs.

Bernie

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Bernie is an adorable 6 year old beagle who just loves other animals - dogs and cats. Bernie is crate trained, and will sleep in her crate overnight. She also likes to use her crate for naps during the day. Bernie lived outdoors for a while but has been very good in the house. She will run to the door when she wants to go out. Bernie's tail never stops wagging! She is super friendly and will happily (and quietly) greet visitors at the door. She is excellent with kids and loves the attention they give her! Bernie would make a wonderful friend for a child or anyone who wants a cheerful companion. She enjoys spending time outside and loves to go for walks so she can sniff to her heart's content. She used to live with Betty who just got a new home- now it is Bernie's turn! She is living in a foster home and will be spayed prior to adoption. She is available for adoption through Centre County PAWS. Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org if you are interested in adopting me!

Betty

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Betty is a 5 year-old beagle who has lived with other dogs and cats and has been around horses. Poor Betty was excessively crated and now needs someone who has more time to spend with her. She is house trained and is used to going outside after meals. Betty is very quiet and has only barked once or twice to announce an urgent need to go out! She sleeps overnight in a crate. In new environments, her behavior is very subdued. However, after three weeks in a foster home she has warmed up and become quite the character! She is very social and loves to know where you are. She will follow you around as you go about your day. Betty likes to cozy up beside you while you read or watch TV. She will do anything for a treat, and grooming is a breeze since she doesn’t mind getting a bath or having her nails clipped. Betty adores children and other dogs and plays very gently. She LOVES to sniff and explore outside! Betty is spayed and living in a foster home.

Brody Boy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Brody Boy! I'm a real sweetheart! I'm very good natured and full of energy. I'm quite young - less than 1.5 years, so I will slow down in a few years :) I was found as a stray, and the person who found me has worked with me on housetraining. I'm fully cratetrained, and nearly housetrained. My new family will just need to work a little with me on that. I'm already neutered! I get along fine with cats, but will chase them if they run. But I'm not aggressive with them in the least. I'm living in a boarding kennel (because the person who found me can't keep me anymore & Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't have enough foster homes). Please think about making me a part of your family!

Bubbles

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bubbles ( and I'm just as sunny as my name!) and I am 8 years old, spayed, crate trained, very lovable and would love a family to cuddle with and I'll eat anything that you drop on the floor! I am a package deal w/ my brother, Scrappy, 7, (his real name is Scrap Iron, but he's a big baby so that name doesn't fit!) who is just as sweet, but we've never been apart. We're no trouble together and it's really a great 2 for 1 deal! I had a mild seizure once several years ago, but my vet, says that I’m just fine w/ no ill effects. We come with a Furminator comb and a crate! Won't you consider taking us home? I'm a cute as a button tri-color and micro chipped. I am living in a boarding kennel with Scrappy & need a home!

Cherry

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Cherry is a 9 year old spayed beagle who weighs 25 pounds. She came to us with her brother, Tobie, and they are very bonded to each other and have been through a very rough year. Their owner had them in a boarding kennel for months trying to figure out a way to keep them and finally couldn't. They have been without a home for too long and desperately want to find a family to take them both. Despite her age, Cherry is a very active dog that loves to spend time outside sniffing around for rabbits. When she picks up a scent, she lets out a sound like a bugle and is off and running. She does have arthritis that requires daily medicine. Once she takes her meds, her arthritis doesn’t slow her down a bit. In fact, exercise is very good for her because it keeps her weight down and builds up her muscles, so she will need a new home that can keep her fit and active. She likes to come inside and cuddle up to someone on the couch or to chew a bone on her dog bed. She is very well-behaved in the house and can be left alone without any problems. She is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Like her brother, Cherry loves children, others dogs, and cats. Cherry really enjoys going on walks and for car rides. At her foster home, she sleeps in her crate throughout the night. Cherry is very friendly and affectionate and will make a great family pet. If you are interested in Cherry, please email Centre County PAWS at the following address: dogs@centrecountypaws.org

Clyde

Bio at Adoption: I’m Clyde, a true “Diamond in the Rough”. I’m a tri-colored neutered male, about 6 years old. I am currently living in a foster home with 2 other dogs. I walk well on a leash, and know sit, down, and stay. I am housebroken, and don’t mind getting my nails trimmed, ears cleaned, or going to the vet. I get really excited when I go in the car, and let you know by whining, but I don’t get car sick. I am extremely affectionate, and love to give kisses and to be on your lap. I am very energetic and active at the dog park, and love to chase and howl at other dogs while they’re playing fetch, but when I’m at home I settle down and am basically a little couch potato. I am possessive of my food and toys because I am afraid someone will take them from me but my foster family is working with me on this. Please consider making me part of your family!!

Cooper

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Cooper and I'm an adorable poodle/terrier mix - but Nittany Beagle Rescue has made me an honorary beagle! I'm a little guy - I only weigh about 20 lbs. I have lots of energy, but not too much. I would love to go on walks with my new people. I am very affectionate, & would love to sit on your lap! I am also very loyal to my person! I want to be with my person when they are home. Sometimes I sleep in bed with my person, & sometimes I sleep on a dog bed next to my person's bed. I've been bounced around a lot, & am a little insecure. So you have to be patient with me. I am housetrained & extremely bright! I am already neutered. I need an adult-only home. Also, I need a home without any other dogs. I am fine with cats, although I may chase them at first, but then I stop. I'm about 8 years old. Please think about making me part of you home!

Copper

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Copper! I'm about 2 years old, maybe younger. I'm a rusty, white, and black beagle. I may have a little bit of brittany spaniel in me. I have such a sweet face and a good personality. I'm very outgoing and adore people. I get along well with other dogs. I love toys and am very much a puppy. I am neutered and up-to-date on shots. I was found as a stray so Nittany Beagle Rescue doesn't know much more about me. The people who found me kept me for awhile and they say that I might be housetrained. I'm living in a kennel right now and am waiting for my forever family to come adopt me. Could you be my forever family?

Dolly

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Dolly! I'm a gentle & adorable female beagle! I belonged to a 95-year-old gentleman who recently passed away. I'm a real treasure! I'm a lapdog! I used to sleep in bed with my owner, so I would love to sleep in bed with my new family! I've been around young children & I'm good with them. I've been around other dogs & am good with them also. However, I can be possessive over food with other dogs. I live with a cat in my foster home, & bark at the cat. I am housetrained, cratetrained, spayed, & up-to-date on shots! I like to ride in a car! I bark when I need to go outside. Please consider making me part of your family!

Frankie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm Frankie & I'm a lovable male tricolor beagle! I am looking for that special someone to make me part of their home! I am about 9 years old. I'm an easygoing & affectionate fellow! I love to sit with my people on the couch. At the same time, I also love to be active & play with my people, especially fetch! I'm fine with other dogs, but I've never been around cats. I ride really well in a car! I am housetrained & cratetrained & neutered! In general, I'm pretty quiet! I bark sometimes when I'm out on a walk, but not excessively. Also, I don't mind taking a bath! However, I don't like going to the vet's office & can be cranky when I'm there. l'd do best in a home with no children. I won Best-in-Show at the 2008 Mt. Laurel Kennel Club's Annual Pet Expo! Everyone loved me! While I have a wonderful outgoing & friendly disposition, I am possessive over what I think is mine. My new family is required to attend training before they take me home - however, the training has already been paid for by Nittany Beagle Rescue, & you can do it in an afternoon, if necessary. I'm living in a kennel until I can find a forever home! Please think about making me part of your home! Click on Frankie's page to see a different photo of him!

Glimmer

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Glimmer & I'm a female beagle! I'm an older gal - about 9 years old. I need a new home because my family is moving to Europe & can't take me with them. I'm an easygoing dog! I am also sociable & affectionate! I'm also fairly passive & submissive. I will walk away if I'm confronted. I am a real sweetheart! I have been exposed to children of all ages & I do fine with them. I love to sniff & bay! I am housetrained, but I do need to be crated when I'm not being supervised. However, as long as you watch me & keep me on a schedule, I should be fine. (I have been living outside in the barn for the past couple of years, & so I may need a little refresher on housetraining when I first go into a home). My family always gave me a biscuit before bedtime - I hope my new family does that too! My family is moving the middle of October. I will have to live in a kennel if I don't have a new family by that time. Please think about making me part of your family!

Jesse & Freckles

Bio at Adoption: Hi, We're Jesse & Freckles! We're 4-5 year old female tricolor beagles. We're very sweet & lovable! We are housetrained, although we may need some reinforcement once we are in our forever home. We are extremely bonded & will be placed together. We are currently living in a boarding kennel, & need a loving home! In both pictures Jessie is the one on the right and Freckles is on the left.

Maggie

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! I'm Maggie, and I am a beautiful, 2 year old, tri-color beagle/basset hound mix! I am a little scared of some people at first, but I warm up really quickly and I especially love other dogs! I get along very well with everyone. My people friends say that I'm very smart- I recently learned how to "sit" and "shake," and am working on "wait" when the door opens. I can even tell you when I have to go potty, but I'm not always perfect about that. I don't have much leash training (so I wear a harness), but I ride well in the car and am very curious about smelling everything. I have big bursts of energy sometimes, followed by long periods of snoozing around. It would be great to live in a home where I have a yard to run around, sniff, and play. Did I mention that I love other dogs? I sometimes get a little scared when I'm left alone and will bark to let you know that I miss you, but I don't do anything bad otherwise! I like being around my people, especially if they'll let me cuddle up on their couch or bed with them! All around, I'm a pretty great gal and would love to be a part of your family! I need someone who will love me and help me continue to learn what is expected of me because I am very eager to please. Thanks for checking me out- I would love to meet you in person! Click on my page to see a different photo of me. Aren't I adorable! Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org is you are interested in me!

Maxwell

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Maxwell & I'm a wonderful 3-year old beagle! I'm an affectionate & loving dog! I'm also a playful guy- I love to play fetch! I'm active, independent & love to smell everything! So you have to make sure I'm secured in a fenced yard or on a leash/tie-out when I'm outside. I will bark when there are things to bark at. I'm working on housetraining & making great progress, although sometimes I don't tell my person when I need to go outside. (I just need a little extra work in that area). I am crated during the day when no one is home. However, I like to sleep in bed with my people at night! I go outside about 5 times a day. Nittany Beagle Rescue was told that in Maxwell's prior home, he was exposed to children & is good with them. Maxwell lives with other dogs & a cat now, & gets along well with them. Maxwell is rambunctious when riding in a car - so it's probably best to crate him in the car if you take him anywhere. Maxwell is already neutered & up-to-date on vaccines.

Molly

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Molly and I'm about 2 years old. I'm an absolute cutie with a sweet personality to match! I'm already spayed and up-to-date on shots! My previous owner could no longer keep so I'm living in a kennel right now and would really like to find my forever home soon. Please think about making me a part of your family!

Motor

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Motor, & I'm a 4 year old male tri-color beagle! I'm a very sweet & gentle guy! I'm also an affection & attentive beagle! I'm playful, as well as obedient! I love to play fetch, ball, & tug-of-war! I will bark when there is something to bark at. I am housetrained & cratetrained. (I'm used to staying inside my crate when my person is at work during the day). Usually, I sleep on a dog bed in my person's bedroom at night. I typically go outside about 5 times a day, & I will wait by the door or will come to you to let you know I have to go outside. I enjoy car rides & ride well in a car! I've lived with children about the age of 6 & 7 years, & cats, & I am very good with them! I've been around other dogs, & I just want to play with them! I am living in a kennel now & need a home! I am already neutered! Click on my page to see another photo of me!

Rudy

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Hi! My name is Rudy! I'm a sweet easy-going male tricolor beagle! From the looks of me, I may be mixed with some basset and I look about 3 years old! Someone dropped me off on the side of the road! Isn't that horrible! And I'm such a nice, wonderful fellow! Why would anyone do that to me??!! I absolutely love people and am great with other dogs. I love to play with toys, especially balls. With toys I am such a puppy! I ride well in a car. I also know a few tricks! I know how to sit, lie down, and shake for a treat! I am very active and like to explore. I am already neutered! My foster parents report that I am the greatest little dog ever and a total lap dog and cuddler. I am totally house trained and will ask to go outside. Please think about making me part of your family! Please email dogs@centrecountypaws.org if you are interested in adopting me!

Scrappy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Scrappy (my real name is Scrap Iron, but I'm a big baby so that doesn't fit my personality!). I am 7 years old, neutered, crate trained, very lovable and would love a family to throw a ball to me and let me cuddle with them! I am a package deal w/ my sister, Bubbles, 8, who is just as sweet, but we've never been apart. We're no trouble together and it's really a great 2 for 1 deal! I do bark when strangers approach the house, but I just like to warn my humans! We come with a Furminator comb and a crate! Won't you consider taking us home? I’m the cute boy on the left and my sister is the peach on the right. I'm a cute as a button tri-color and microchipped. I am living in a boarding kennel with Bubbles & need a home!

Simon

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Simon, & I'm a lovable, calm male beagle mix! I look & sound like a beagle, but I'm tall - about 17" at the shoulder. I was found as a stray in an extreme case of neglect - my collar had literally grown into my neck! ( I have the scare to prove it!) But I'm in a foster home now! I'm a fairly young guy - the vet thinks I'm only 3 or 4 years old! I looked older when I was first rescued because my life had been so hard. I've had a great medical check-up & I have a clean bill of health! Two of the cats in my foster home are terrified of me, which is making life difficult. So I need an adoptive home! I'm housetrained. Also, I'm extremely affectionate and loving! I love to play tug-of-war! I get along with other dogs, although I don't like it when they try to take my treats. I get along with cats also. I like to chase them if they run, though. I'm usually quiet & seldom bark, even when people come to the door. I am neutered & up-to-date on shots, also! I'm about 47 lbs. & trim! Please give me a home!

Tank

Bio at Adoption: Hi, My name is Tank! I desperately need a new home!! My sister was just adopted so now I'm hoping its my turn. I'm as sweet as can be. I love going for walks, dinner, and cuddling on the couch! I am neutered, up-to-date on shots, crate trained, and housetrained! I love to snuggle with you and even though I'm a bit bigger, I just want to sit on your lap! I ride very well in a car and am wonderful with other dogs, people, and children. I'm about 8 but am still pretty active, even though lounging on the couch is my favorite hobby. I walk well on a leash. I love to give kisses and will follow you around! I really love to be around women, but I warm up to men if you give me a chance. Do you think you could make me part of your family? Could I be the one for you? Please consider adopting me!!

Tobie

Bio at Adoption: This is a COURTESY POST. Tobie is a 9 year old neutered beagle who weighs 27 pounds. He came to us with his sister, Cherry, and they are very bonded to each other and have been through a very rough year. They have been without a home for too long and desperately want to find a family to take them both. Tobie is very people-focused and will follow you from room to room. He loves to sit in your lap or just get as close to you as possible. If you are outside, he’ll go out with you, but when you go in he wants in as well. Tobie thinks he is a guard dog, so if he hears a door bell or sees anything outside he will bark to let you know. Once he has done his job, he will warmly greet them and insist on being petted. Tobie requires daily medication to control his seizures and to aid his digestion. Because of his digestive issues, he also needs a special food (a high protein grain-free diet) and can only have approved treats in moderation. He is fine once he takes his medicine and will give you lots of love, kisses, and attention. Tobie is well-behaved in the house and can be left alone without any problems. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Tobie loves children, others dogs, and cats. He really enjoys going for car rides. At his foster home, he sleeps in his crate throughout the night. Tobie is very friendly and affectionate and will make a great family pet. If you are interested in Tobie, please email Centre County PAWS at the following address: dogs@centrecountypaws.org

Tucker

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Tucker. I am a 6-8 month old male beagle. I am possibly mixed with what looks like spaniel. I am such a sweetheart! I love to give kisses! Being that I'm still a puppy, I have lots of energy! I was found as a stray so NBR doesn't know too much about me. I was just neutered. I'm a little scared at the kennel right now so if you have room in your home please think about fostering or adopting me!
