Instructions on how to adopt a beagle from Nittany Beagle Rescue and the adoption application form can be found on the Adopt a Beagle page.

Bella

Hi! My name is Bella & I'm a 3-year old beagle. I'm an outgoing & friendly girl! I'm affectionate & I like to hang out on the furniture with my person. Sometimes I'll sit on your lap! I like to play tug-of war! I've lived with another dog & did great! Also, I'm great with children! I've lived with children as young as 7 years, & a sometimes 4-year old would visit. However, I will run out the door, & I do not come when called (like a typical beagle). So I need a home where doors are kept securely shut, & aren't held open for long. I go to my crate when I'm feeling scared or timid. I get skittish if I think I'm in trouble. I haven't had much experience riding in a car, but when Nittany Beagle Rescue picked me up, I rode in a crate on the back seat & was good (although I paced some).I haven't been around cats, but I'm such a good natured girl, I'm probably fine with them. I am housetrained, but will have accidents sometimes. Sometimes I'll ring a bell on the door when I need to go out. (I come with my own bell!) Other times, I may get on my person's lap & kiss your face if I have to go outside. I also have accidents in my crate - but not all the time. So I need a home where people are home a lot so they can patiently work with me on housetraining. I probably need multiple long walks (longer than 20 minutes) each day or free access to a securely fenced in back yard in order to be housetrained. I am spayed & up-to-date on shots. Bongo

Hi! My name is Bongo! I'm a very sweet & friendly male tricolor beagle. I'm an affectionate & easygoing boy! I'm great with other dogs & cats. I've been around children as young as 2 years old, & I'm very gentle with them! I would do better in a home with other dogs. I like to play ball. I love to snuggle beside my person on the coach and easy chair. At night, I like to sleep with my person. I'm fine in the car, & I've always been crated when traveling in the past. I'm excellent on the "sit" and "wait" commands! I'm a sensitive soul & was probably abused in the past. So please don't raise your voice or lift your hand at me. It's important to remember that it may take awhile for me to become used to my new home. (In my prior home, I hid behind the couch for a week, other than to eat, drink or go outside). I'm about 7 years old & already neutered. I am housetrained, however, I will have accidents. I need to go out about every 4-5 hours, although I will use puppy pads if you put them out for me. I will whine or bark when I need to go outside - but I may not do that until I feel comfortable in my new home. I need a special family who can help me adjust to my new home, & who will be patient with my housetraining issues. Are you my special family? Click on my page to see another photo of me! I'm adorable! ADOPTION PENDING.

Bonita

Hi! My name is Bonita & I'm a very sweet 4-year old female beagle! Everyone calls me Bo, for short! I'm on the small size - probably about 20 lbs. or so. I love people! I'm a gentle girl! I love to cuddle in bed with my person! I'm also a quiet beagle. If you have a fenced yard, I would love to run around it! But if you don't, that's ok. I'm happy to just walk on a leash with my person! Bo has been around other dogs, and is fine with them for the most part. However, she seems to be dominant with other dogs, and may do best as an only dog. She has been around cats to a limited extent & seems to be fine with them. Bo has been around children as young as 4 years old & is quite gentle with them. However, she wasn't raised around young children & can be skittish with them at first, so at this point, Nittany Beagle Rescue will place Bo in a home with children 10 and older. She is also pushy with food & would probably grab food from a young child's hands if they were walking around with it. Bo lived most of her life in a dog pen, & so she needs some work on developing house manners. She has spent the past several months in a home with a doggie door, & she seems to be housetrained. Bo is spayed & up-to-date on shots & microchipped. Bo is living in a boarding kennel & is anxious to find her forever home! Click on Bo's page to see a different photo of her! ADOPTION PENDING.

Colin

Hi! My name is Colin & I'm an outgoing male beagle! (I'm named after Colin Firth!) I'm an older fellow & I'm just so loving & sweet! I love to play ball & fetch & keep away! I love to play with my toys! Colin enjoys playing with other dogs, & so a home with other dogs would make Colin very happy! Colin is also very good with cats. Colin would do better in a home without young children (under 5 years), but he should be fine with older children (say 8 & older). Colin likes to sleep in bed with his person at night. Colin has had some major dental work, and now doesn't have any teeth now. So he needs softer food (or small bites). Colin is housetrained - he'll pace when he needs to go outside. But sometimes he will have an accident in the house. Colin is neutered & up-to-date on shots. Click on Colin's page to see another photo of him!

Gray Boy

Hi! My name is Gray Boy! I am a very friendly male beagle mix! I am staying in a foster home & I'm great with the other dogs & cats that live there! I am such a sweetheart! I am very gentle! I love to play in water! I am already neutered & up-to-date on vaccines. At some point, someone was very mean to Gray Boy & tied or taped his mouth shut. You can see the scars around Gray Boy's muzzle. Gray Boy was originally a stray, so Nittany Beagle Rescue will place him in a home with older children or no children (as a precaution since we don't know how he is with young children). Gray Boy is a dominant dog, and so he will be placed in a home with no dogs or only submissive dogs. He is possessive with his food around other dogs. Gray Boy is probably about 5 years old, and weighs about 30 lbs. Gray Boy had a cyst removed from the back of his neck when he was neutered. It is still healing so he isn't able to wear a collar until it is all healed. Click on Gray Boy's page to see a different photo of him!

Princess

Hi! My name is Princess! I'm about 8 years old & I'm looking for my forever home! I'm very loving! I'm also very friendly & outgoing! I love to be petted! I love to sleep in bed with my person at night, & to sit next to you on the couch. I really want to please my people! I'm very gentle & I'm very good with children. I lived in an outdoor kennel all my life until Nittany Beagle Rescue found a foster home for me. I'm housetrained in my foster home! I don't like to go outside - my foster home thinks I'm afraid you'll leave me out there! I'm good with the other dogs & cats in my foster home - although I was afraid of the other dogs at 1st. (We think Princess was attacked by another dog at some point). She is also hand shy, & so it's important that Princess' family be gentle with her & not raise your hand. Princess knows how to use a doggie door & is crate trained. She hasn't been around children much, and so an adult home would be best. Princess rides well in a car. Princess is spayed & up-to-date on shots. Click on her page to see another photo of Princess!
