Nittany Beagle Rescue - Jessie

UPDATED 8/12/2026 Hi! My name is Jessie! I'm a 5-year old male tricolor beagle! I'm a sweet, easy-going guy! I love to sniff in the backyard. I used to be chained to an old steel drum lying on it's side with the bottom cut out. That's where I went when the weather was bad. But then I went to Nittany Beagle Rescue. I'm in a foster home now, & I LOVE it! I'm still timid, but I'm making progress! This is still pretty new to me! I'm timid of bigger men - I bark at them. Although I do like my foster dad! He's the best! I like to collect things! LOL Rugs, blankets, shoes, stuffed toys - whatever suits my fancy! I'll take it to a space & drop it - or but it in my crate! My foster mom says I'm hilarious! I like to play! I like my foster mom to throw the ball so I can go get it. I like to run around, especially in the morning. So I'm a morning dog! I've been around my foster mom's 2-year old grandchild & I'm excellent with her! We follow each other around the house. I love my crate. The door is always open & I go hang out in it. My crate has a big , fluffy dog bed in it & I really like it! I laid on the couch for the 1st time on Aug. 6th! I really liked it! :) When no one is home, I need to be crated or else I get into stuff. I'm nearly housetrained, but it's best to crate me overnight since I might mark. As I get used to living in a home, my foster mom thinks it won't be necessary to crate me overnight. I would love a fenced in yard! I love to lounge on the outdoor furniture. I get along great with other dogs. But I don't like it when the other dogs are loud. I'll go into another room when they are all barking. But I don't mind it when children are loud! I'm totally OK with that! I'm a very low maintenance type of dog! I walk well on a leash! And I ride great in a car! I just lay on the back seat. Although I do like to roll in things!
